When you say things like “I'd rather solve tech than people”, I suspect that you'd rather do neither, actually, and would be content playing a well designed city simulator for the rest of your life.

Real problems run into real humans with their own real contexts.

Also, while I'm on this, “pure technical problems” exist, but are quite rare. Any experience solving generalized problems at work will quickly tell you how every elegant technical solution has frustratingly understandable and *entirely social* arguments against them.

There are massive sustainability and ethical issues in the field (what else is new) but I will forever be wary of delusional levels of anthropocentrism that make people make up imaginary barriers that make us super special and not deterministic meat machines.
