A large, stringy fungus attached to a tree. Though it is difficult to see in the photo, there is a slug near the top of the fungus in the tree.
The subject of my nature journal during class today. I admit a student found it, but o was fascinated. I’m teaching them to notice and describe so not too many drawings yet, but boy are we having fun!
