Lovely to be back at the Queen’s House, Royal Museums Greenwich, to start my Caird Research Fellowship! I’ll be working on my project, ‘Navigating Welfare: Greenwich Hospital School and state-led childcare and welfare, 1806–1840’. #ecr #skystorians #19thcentury #royalnavy #welfarehistory

Funny research find of the day - Lost property: “An Ostrich’s Egg”. What a bizarre object to bring the 1845 Free Trade Bazaar.
Today I got to present my research on c.19th reformers for the Inclusive Histories Project at one of the most historically fascinating venues, The House of Lords! It was great to be part of exciting discussions on how the project can make a practical impact to support teachers & museums.
Congratulations 🎉
Very excited to share that I’m starting my new job as a Research Associate on the ‘Inclusive Histories’ project. I’ll be working closely with @bishopsgateinst.bsky.social and The London Archives to uncover new and diverse sources on c.19th radical protest and reform for schools.

We are very pleased to learn that the UK Ministry of Justice has dropped a proposal, made by the previous govt, to destroy print copies of post-1858 wills following their digitisation: bit.ly/3WaXud8
This follows submissions from 100s of historians, and others, opposing the proposal. #Skystorians
