The only present obstacle to an honest and mutually beneficial conversation most of the time is greed. Our species will enslave, genocide, and occupy the land of its own kind because we stop the conversation at impasses like religion, language, culture, and borders, despite technology's advancement.
A positive change does not come from eliminating or displacing people perceived as a problem. It can only come from open and cohesive communication with mutually beneficial goals established. Extortion, subjugation, and murder organized by leaders as legal only beget thieves, rapists, and murderers.
Its possible to eliminate the need for prisons with a cultural change, even if population is growing. For positive trends in how a society fixes problems and how well it helps its allies and neighbors achieve better lives, the better equipped each individual is to live comfortably with peace of mind
