You know the 118th Congress started in 2023. And you know the CDC is an executive branch agency. When Biden’s CDC declared the pandemic over in 2022 that was not the Republicans by any stretch. Being distracted is not an excuse for deadly policies. You see how that makes it worse, right?

They use “Democrat” as a noun, in that case as a plural noun. When used as an adjective, the standard for the party (and English grammar, generally) is “Democratic”. Using “Democrat” as an adjective is the epithet.

Also, it’s a nit-pick, but the only people who say “Democrat” the way you do are Republicans. It’s a deliberate in-group signal for them. Someone who supposedly cares about the party would know this and spend the extra 2 characters to say “Democratic candidate”. But you didn’t.

Politicians should believe in their own platform. If the party’s main response to getting criticism from the opposition is to fold & implement the opposition’s agenda, how can they possibly expect that to help them? Politics are oppositional. Sometimes you gotta stand with your own side.

They need a better answer, we both agree there. That GOP fever dream bill is absolutely not it. The Democrats won’t win over racists by passing that racist bill. They’ll just debase themselves and still lose. That bill is just a Bush-era wishlist. Passing it would be a massive coup for the GOP.

Biden’s 2020 campaign knew they needed left-wing voters so they included left-wing policies. Once they won they half-assed implementation, often dropping policies quietly, and then didn’t bother in 2024. We know what it looks like when they listen, which is why it was so clear they weren’t in 2024.

A citizen’s main power is their vote. Just voting for the lesser of two evils every time because the party says so is literally the powerless situation here. You’ve got it backwards. This is a democracy. Politicians need to convince the power base (people) why they deserve to share that power.

I can see the strategy she’s going for with this interview. She wants to detoxify Stonewall, make it seem less ideological, dogmatic etc. That’s why she’s saying she respects JK Rowling. The problem is that *nothing* will make the gender-criticals warm to Stonewall. It is public enemy #1 to them.
