yeah it *looks* so different that it makes it kind of hard to figure out at first, but once you understand that clearing next to pieces spawns new blue shapes, I think you'll find that chaining is weirdly easy and natural relative to most other games.
also a weirdly cool character meta

yeah tiktok's priorities being quite different from your typical american company has been pretty cool in some ways.

maybe there's a social element to it i'm missing or don't know about?
that's wild; i would have expected you that to be like, mandatory in that case
no, i was just thinking that maybe my ignorance of the platform was maybe disconnecting me from the culture at large maybe
is it unusual that i have never had a tiktok account
i would probably have a smart ass quip about the image you shared if it loaded
hey every
i'm going on an unpaid leave of absence at the end of the month. most likely going to be denied state medical leave since i couldn't get a doctor's note in time, so i set up a gofundme to help cover utilities and other payments over the next few months.

It's Tuesday. You know what that means.
A screen shot of a bluesky post that was too long to post. It reads: For me personally, the main insights that helped develop my mixing beyond trusting my ears were: Bass occupies more headroom than other frequencies, so paying specific attention to it and making sure it remains mono will help the most. A lot of gross stuff can happen in the 250-500 frequency band, especially in bass voices; try cutting there when something sound ugly, woofy, or especially if the graphic eq shows you a resonance there. Compressors are your friend! You should spend a lot of eneergy learning how it can help you improve a voice in your arrangement; if something sounds indistinct, or maybe the attack/transient seems unpleasant when it's turned up, consider compressing it. Just don't overdo it! Reverbs and delays can eat up a lot of room in your mix! Use a send to mix and eq them separately for fine grained control. People perceive a lot of harshness in the 10k+ frequency band, so gently cutting a few db here and there can help your hi-hats and other noisy voices feel gentler. Mastering does not have to be complicated; it can be as simple as a limiter at -0.3 db, gain until you start snipping off the peaks, and soft saturation in the body of your mix.
I mix and master my own work, if you need a fast bullet point list of how I approach it, here you go:
While I find a lot of his work to be geared specifically for starting mix engineers working in a conventional studio environment, I personally found In The Mix to be a very helpful resource: www.youtube.com/@inthemix

drawings of seven of the stackable people from Gururin. the pirate in the bottom right is saying "gururin" in katakana.
Gururin is a videogame where you operate a washing machine full of people, and one of those people is a wizard.
We’ve got one of the PuzWed perennial “Good Bad” games this week: Gururin.
A game that asks “what if you rotate the board instead of pieces” and not much else. However, that doesn’t stop some of our more intrinsically motivated players from finding cool tech

An elf with a very 90s game aesthetic
A bellshroom
Avoid the green slime
I made a game in 3 days for #ldjam
Fling a bat and explore levels using echolocation. Like billiards but weird.
Let me know how it plays for you? Thank you!
