With the veto session heading into it's second week soon, a few Chicagoland based groups are headed to Springfield to remind our legislators about the importance of public transit!
This is our last change to fund, fix and save Chicagoland's transit agencies!
If you can attend, please RSVP below.
💪 Our volunteers reached 10,000+ Chicagoland residents about the fight to save transit today!
📲 Call your representatives today and urge them to save public transit NOW at savetransit.org
Join us at Metra's 55th-56th-57th street station on Saturday, October 4th to raise awareness to riders about the fiscal cliff!

An image showing 2,042 letters have been sent to governor Pritzker.
I do hope he gets the message.
Without crucial funding from Springfield, the CTA will have to:
- Only operate from 6am - 9pm on all 'L' lines and bus routes
- Suspend service on 4 out of 8 'L' lines
- Suspend over half of CTA bus routes
- Increase wait times for trains and buses.
Contact your representatives today!
Stuck in traffic? Can't find parking? Take the red line! It's right there!
Let's make the most of our $2.1B investment in the RPM project and #BuildOnBroadway in #Edgewater #Uptown #Chicago
Make sure you tell them how much public transit means to us, and how important it is. Without it, the Illinois economy would shrink by 14 billion a year. Traffic would get worse than it already is, not to mention roads would need to be widened even further.
Please reach out to your representatives.
So, if you want to avoid this future, there's a lot you can do. First, contact your representatives. (It just so happens we have a handy link.)

At the latest CTA budget hearing, the CTA explained that without extra funding from Springfield, public transit would only be able to operate from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
This would be disastrous for many who rely on public transportation in the Chicago area, especially for third shift workers.

The ultimate parking reform is a full repeal. Which is probably worth pursuing next year. chicago-parking-reform.org
Evanston City Council has approved eliminating parking minimums in the comprehensive plan!
“Eliminate parking minimums downtown and right-size along transit-adjacent corridors.”
5-3 vote: Davis (surprise!), Burns, Iles, Nieuwsma, Geracaris in favor. Krissie Harris isn’t present.
“We need a long term funding solution, but not that one.”
We have a linktree now!

For those who missed it - we have had to cancel our Oak Park station awareness event today. This was due to a mix of low attendance and poor air quality.
We hope to schedule something for next week. Thanks for all the support so far!
