Also, as I've said before, the faculty at large community colleges could totally do the jobs that faculty at Yale do, and a lot of faculty at ivies could not do our jobs for a single semester.

"The rise of extreme wealth is one of the clearest signs of this imbalance. In 1987, billionaires held wealth equal to 3% of global GDP. Today this tiny elite, just 0.0001% of the world population, owns the equivalent of *16%* of world GDP in wealth."

I study racism for a living and can still manage to be shocked by how institutionalized it is. What do you mean they were giving tax-breaks to white supremacists celebrating treason?

If you have standards or values, you can be excoriated or investigated for failing to live up to them, if you don't, you are completely free to do anything you want. That is the unavoidable lesson of the last decade of American politics.

I’m tired of these lazy people living off the government and refusing to work.

Contrary to public perception a huge % of pregnant teenagers in the 1990s were impregnated by adult men. The younger they were, the larger the average age gap between mother and father was. Fixing teen pregnancy was in part a clampdown on statutory rape. That's what conservatives want to reverse.

Man was wounded by ICE officers more than half a dozen times, attorney says Carlos Ivan Mendoza Hernandez says officers were shooting before he moved his car, according to his lawyer, while DHS said Mendoza Hernandez "weaponized his vehicle."

Federal immigration officers shot a man six times during a traffic stop. They say he weaponized his car. Video suggests he at worst was trying to flee, and he says he was fleeing after they'd already started shooting. So far, they've been shown to have lied after nearly every one of these incidents.

🚨🚨🚨Columbia law professor Philip Hamburger just dropped an essay arguing that Trump is right about birthright citizenship. That now makes at least seven prominent law professors arguing to varying degrees that Trump’s EO is constitutional. SEVEN whole law professors?!

Here I was thinking that what mattered was every single judge who has ruled on the issue, 125+ years of accepted understanding of the 14th, and centuries of common law on the contours of jus soli. But if Ilan Wurman's side has SEVEN law professors, man, WOW. It's over.

“Why aren’t college students protesting” stories are almost always wrong (they are protesting), omit crucial context (they were brutally punished for protesting before), and somehow suggest that 19 yr olds have more moral responsibility than elected officials three times their age

Accountability brings consequences.

And consequences are the only language corruption understands.

Money and political power do not outrank the Constitution.

They just need a wake up call and it’s coming at the midterms.👇

The Horrors That Could Lie Ahead if Vaccines Vanish Researchers at Stanford University modeled how many people could die or be disabled in 25 years if vaccines for polio, measles, rubella or diphtheria were no longer available.

Over the last 25 years, six people who contracted measles in the U.S. died from it.

A model built by Stanford researchers predicts that if Americans could no longer get the vaccine, measles could kill about 290,000 people in the next 25 years.

I counted nearly 1700 protesters in Franklin, TN. Which is, uh, not exactly a hotbed of left-wing progressivism. #NoKings
