The Hormuz situation seems so so bad, like gonna-destabilize-half-the-globe-and-tank-the-economy bad, with no obvious resolution even plausible, and it’s still getting the “distant crisis mostly of interest to nerds that will work itself out” treatment in American press
Babies?
Liking your comment because I agree not because I "like" it 🙁
The underlying structural problems of UK politics that the country doesn't have the resources to do everything expected of it and a Westminster class in denial about this doesn't go away in the event of a new PM.
My 18yr old daughter is fighting back. She's joined the Green party! (Am in the UK so this does make sense!)
Thanks for the explanation. I still think they should provide a Boots (it must have been T3 I was in!) as a service to travellers. Absolute pain when you think you can pick up last minute items.
I x Lib Dem and 1 x Tory leaflet here in Cheltenham. Oh and a generic posted letter from Farage....so far I've only seen 2 x stake boards, both Green. It feels v quiet for an election that's only a few weeks away. But maybe LGR/shadow elections next year is dampening enthusiasm.
Not just T5. Flew to Faro recently, it was BA but think it was T2. They've turned Heathrow into Dubai for some unfathomable reason. Acres of empty designer stores and endless shops selling expensive champagne and Toblerones. Even Boots has gone.
Oh ffffssss why did the Americans elect this man again???
We're never rejoining, are we 😩
I still don't think the good people of Sunderland will be going to the polls in a few weeks time thinking about Peter Mandelson. But this adds to a general feeling of incompetence.
They could have done worse than leave Karen Pierce in post.
It absolutely beggars belief that he was even considered for the job in the first place. Do they not remember him during the last Labour govt? Why anyone thought it a good idea to appoint someone who'd already had to resign in disgrace TWICE I don't know.
Whilst I'm happy about this, I just wish there was some acknowledgement that we're just returning to where we were pre Brexit, this isn't something new. And in the meantime, a whole generation of young people missed out.
Especially children and education.
“Hallowe’en costume” package depicting man in Jesse-like garb and labeled “Red Cross Worker - Adult Size Costume“
Making the rounds, Hallowe’en costume idea
Our future under Reform 😬😬😬
It's a nice thing for Americans to believe but in fact I think it was the Hungarian people who sunk Orban.
I remember that clearly. You made me feel less alone watching from my bedroom in the early hours of the morning here.
one immediate dramatic consequence of the Hungarian result:
Magyar has promised to repair relations with the EU and unblock a €90bn EU loan for Ukraine
💥🇭🇺🗳️ BREAKING: Péter Magyar says Viktor Orbán called to concede and congratulate him.
Magyar will be Hungary’s next prime minister and, as it stands, is set to secure a 2/3 supermajority – enough to fully dismantle Orbán’s system.
A 16-year chapter is over.
I never understood why the New Zealand McDonald's special burger was a burger with added.... beetroot (when I was there in the late 1990's)

This Reform leaflet from three Gateshead candidates looks like a timelapse of the same person
These kinds of figures could be leading Magyar to the constitutional majority he needs to really change things.
Lib Dem? Maybe the alternative for Labour in areas like mine where Labour basically don't exist?
I agree it won't be immediate but I can't believe there won't be a challenge if the polls don't pick up a year or so out. This is a disaster for them!!
Im guessing there will be a change of Labour leadership before the next general election (plus who knows what else will happen!) but there is definitely no room for complacency.
Hells bells, what a mess! This is exactly the scenario I'm worried about when I read of the increasing enthusiasm for Greens.
??? I am surprised by your tone!!
