"Trump and the people surrounding him have long pushed for a theocracy, an explicitly Christian nation. These folks are completely fine and happy when religious leaders weigh in … as long as they agree with what Trump is doing. But that’s not religion. It’s a cult."
I still haven't seen a good answer as to why there was not much of a political backlash to the ending of the CTC expansion. anyone?
I'm still awaiting an answer as to why there was so little political pushback to the ending of the child tax credits
it's BS, dig deeper
vengeance? really? against a nation that has promised to Annihilate you? and funds others to do so, too? this is over the top.
you serious?
actually, I never talked to Amy or Nick about this but presume I'd know if there were a connection.
no
Only J.D. Vance is bold enough to ask, “but really though, IS the Pope Catholic?
OOOF, all of the wage growth over the last year erased in one month
plenty we can do to reduce prices like universal health care and of course not starting a war... but @arindube.bsky.social is right: the affordability crisis is really a pay crisis. suppressed wages funded soaring inequality and took tens of thousands of $ in annual income away from the middle class
symbolic, and a distraction. Sure, will make you feel better. that's not politics.
impeachment is stupid at this moment. what would it accomplish? Won't even pass house less pass the Senate. it is posturing. yuch!
As the Pentagon purges some minorities and women from high-ranking positions, the message being sent to lower-ranking officers is that “they will be assessed on the basis of their gender, race, or politics, rather than their abilities,” Adam Serwer writes:
Mahmoud Khalil’s anti-Zionist case to Jews shows the case for skepticism: His recent interview with the Forward illustrates ongoing failures within the pro-Palestinian movement

He accepts there's lots of different Zionists but can't being himself to want to engage J Street.
Terrific piece critiquing Khalil's stance in his interview with the Forward. Glad he's done such an interview but as explained by this piece he's not persuasive that jews or Israelis have nothing to fear from Palestinian moderates (as he fashions himself).

Israel doesn't require anybody to be Jewish. There is 20% of Israelis that are Palestinians and their population has grown tremendously since 1948.
I'm not sure of what you're saying. Should there be an Israeli state, majority Jewish? Should Jews in US embrace a broad coalition to fight for justice and oppose hate?
yeah, I believe in broad alliances domestically to achieve economic and social justice and fight racism and antisemitism. Totally consistent with supporting a Jewish state in Palestine.
fine to make your home anywhere. Deserve to be safe everywhere.
Yes! Great job @benwikler.bsky.social and your (my former!) state!
who are 'you guys' btw?
I have no idea what you are saying
that's not my point. It is that the Bundist strategy was a dead end. In the 30s i may have been a Bundist, but I'd have been wrong. Anti-Zionism failed.
