Have just finished reading The House of Water by @fflurdafydd.bsky.social A powerful story full of mystery and family secrets. I was gripped from the very beginning. Just brilliant.

Welsh: the language that shaped Britain Owen Williams Listen carefully, and you’ll hear it: a language older than the hills, older than the state. The names of rivers and mountains still whisper it – Pen-y-Fan, Penicuik, Aberystwyth, Aberde...

Languages like Welsh don’t need to justify their existence. They don’t need permission to survive. You don’t treat the first voice of the land as an optional extra ✍️ Owen Williams

The UK is not a single-language state. It’s time Starmer caught up Owen Williams When Prime Minister Keir Starmer declared that “if you want to live in the UK, you should speak English,” he wasn’t just parroting a tired line about integration. He was exposing a deepe...

The UK is not a single-language state.

A powerful argument by @owswills.bsky.social for understanding and valuing multiculturalism.

1 in 5 of the UK’s care workforce have a non-British passport.

Starmer would have us believe these carers are the “squalid” result of a “failed experiment”.

I say they do vital, necessary, humane, skilled work and they are worth their weight in gold.

That's exactly what Welsh people do! We love to find out whether we have a connection to someone we've just met. They were lovely! For many years I went to the Fringe so I know exactly how lovely Scottish people are. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Barry: Thousands attend Welsh independence march The event, organised by Yes Cymru and All Under One Banner Cymru, was held in Barry on Saturday.

Ms Wood said it was "time to end our dependence", adding there was an "opportunity to build an alternative to the failed economic model that serves the City of London while leaving crumbs for communities in Wales".

Yesterday my friend and I met two lovely women outside Barry Station. We were on our way to the Yes Cymru march. They told us that they were SNP supporters from Glasgow and asked if we were happy to have a photo with them. Not sure if they're on social media but it was a pleasure to meet them.

In his last days Glyndwr wandered alone, possibly Incognito. His death was unrecorded & this, ultimately, was his great gift to posterity.

With the rebellion over & the occupation complete, the process of subjection began in earnest ✍️Desmond Clifford buff.ly/Bp6wwn7

Adolescence. A powerful, brilliantly acted drama. The acting was excellent. Owen Cooper and Stephen Graham were spectacular.
