Smaller games company are volatile - boom and bust - which leads to high churn. The big games publishers make the business work.

I feel the day my SaaS needs to get SOC 2 is drawing close.
I just closed an enterprise customer who at first required it, but we negotiated that out of the contract.
It’s bought me some time - but sooner or later we’ll simply need SOC 2 to sign up certain customers.
Sigh.

Interesting - and that's exactly what I was worried about.
What I miss most from the “old” Internet is the old school blogs.
Not corporate-y blogs full of boring news or SEO content. And not affiliate sites masquerading as blogs.
Personal blogs where people would write about things they liked and things they did. And The buzz I’d get for each new post.

Video games companies can do "enterprise mode" as much as any other industry.
Harsh! But true...
Because two of these came within an hour of each other, I thought it might be some new attack that I hadn't figured out yet.
But, as the saying goes, "never ascribe to malice..."
Strange support requests today:
Twice, people have written asking to cancel their account linked to the email address they're writing from.
In both cases, there's no such account.
They're not business emails, just generic @ gmail . com addresses.

Sad to see this. Rec Room was a Feature Upvote customer for a long time, and we were proud to boldly announce it.
We made a classic mistake: we told my daughter it is possible to break a glass by singing.
Now she is singing as highly and as loudly as she can, with her face centimetres from a glass.
We brought this upon ourselves…
Amazing effort to keep it going so long!
I loved having my own blog when the old school blogging ecosystem existed.
But I couldn't sustain my interest against the rise of social, the death of Google reader, and when comments turned from interesting to trash.
Self-awareness is a good characteristic!

New team member started 3 weeks ago; this week she received a phishing attempt to her work email, ostensibly from me.
She found it suspicious, so wasn’t “got”. But this has me worrying about the attempts to her and others in our team that didn’t trigger suspicions, that we don’t know about.
