Ah come now Jam. I think a lot of very good people give over their time to produce this content so I’m appreciative of whatever they can do while holding down their real jobs. I just think it would be good if the top bod at FFS could invest a little money into the audio as it’s key to the podcast.

It’s mostly the hosts voices. On this one Andy and Az’s mic’s were at one level, while Hibbos was very low in the mix. Means I have to turn it up to hear Hibbo in the car, and then Andy comes back booming! 🤣. It’s a problem across almost all FPL content made for YouTube and not for podcast first

That all makes sense. I’ve definitely gravitated to Bluesky for all those reasons. But there’s always the potential for Bluesky to start sounding like Brits who move to Spain and spend their days moaning about how crap Britain is… 😂 Forgetting that most of us still live there and are good people

That definitely seems true of Bluesky. Although there does seem to be a lot of this kind of FPL ‘virtue signalling’ going on. “I’m better than you” etc. It’s kind of understandable but it makes me feel just about as tired as the crapola on Twitter 😂

True. Then all that needs to change is the word Empire then really. The monarchs, swords, ceremony etc can stay. It’s really just an etymological problem.

But it’s not really linked to empire is it? It’s just that thats what’s in place in this country to hand out awards. Instead it’d be Vorderman handing them out at a channel 4 ceremony. I think we’re getting bogged down in someone like Farage’s idea of the UK rather than how great it really is today.

Yet again, just a term for an award in 2024/5. I worry that by being ‘progressive’ we’re actually being regressive. Why take away from the people who have truly earned praise purely because some arse has given some out too.

Is it arbitrary though? I realise Boris was handing them out like flyers, but on the whole, those that get awarded are deserving. If we take away the award title, the monarch, the sword etc we end up with the pride of Britain awards. At least the honours system highlights people doing great things
