Finally finished #StrangerThings and I’m slightly underwhelmed by the finale. It was alright but not exactly climatic. So underwhelmed I’ve decided to rewatch an another Netflix Sci-Fi classic which is way better , #Dark. My absolute recent favourite.

Boycott Eurovision. News clipping from Sky News: Israel allowed to take part in Eurovision 2026 - as several countries withdraw. Scottish Greens.
Once a symbol of unity and hope across Europe, the Eurovision Song Contest has been turned into a pink-washing front for war criminals in Israel.
After today's decision, there must be a global boycott of Eurovision.
We need your help.

Been a while since I’ve posted anything here. Went on a random #CyclingQuest today where I randomly picked a few spots on the map of the #BeelineVelo2 and used the #CompassMode to get from A to B. It was fun and totally solidified my internal memory of getting around #edinburgh #NoLycraCycling
To be honest, I’ve always thought they were a different shade of Tories, just like the Lib Dems.
Imagining it would be the same for a lot of folks who commute into the city. But it’s a start for sure, maybe with more data they would extend the zone at a quicker pace in the next 24 months.
Not doubting that at all, I’m assuming all bikes would parked correctly and utilising the closest parking areas on the edge of the zone. My closest one is in Pollock Hall but there’s no bikes there and my flat is 20min walk from there. So technically I would need to park there and walk home.
Great video, confirms how I understand the scheme. As the zone is currently limited, could potentially see most bikes abandoned on the edges of the zone at the end of the day. Shame for folk who still want to access the bikes near the city centre.
🎉 The East Area ETRO has been agreed to make permanent! And, moments later, so have the North and West Area Travelling Safely schemes.
Many thanks to everyone who joined us and @spokes.org.uk in calling for scrutiny on this process and calling for sense to prevail at the TRO Sub-Committee.
Discovering new things during the journey from A to B. Could be new routes, new local businesses and nice spots for picnics and picturesque views etc.

Iconic Waverley Bridge, description by EdinburghGuide.com Waverley Bridge Postcode EH1 Edinburgh Area New Town About the venue For many arriving in Edinburgh by train, Waverley Bridge is the first place they step foot when leaving Waverley Station. The bridge has one of the four main entrances to Waverley railway station, with roads descending into the station itself - the North and South ramps. Since 2016, the Waverley Bridge entrance is used mostly by travellers on foot and a few, select vehicles. The bridge is located right in the heart of Edinburgh, a pedestrian and cycle thoroughfare that connects Edinburgh's Georgian New Town with the medieval Old Town, across the valley of the former Nor' Loch. Located at the East end of East Princes Street Garden, it has fine views of the Scott Monument and the garden, and it forms part of the roof of Waverley Station, with views of trains running along railway lines below the bridge. Waverley Bridge is one of three main routes linking Edinburgh's Old and New towns. The category A listed bridge was built between 1894 and 1896 by Blyth and Westland. The other nearby routes between Old and New Towns are The Mound to the West of Waverley and North Bridge, at the East End of Princes Street. In June 2020, as part of emergency traffic measures brought in during the pandemic, to encourage people to social distance, walk, roll, and cycle, the Council ordered the closure of Waverley Bridge at the Princes Street junction with Waverley Bridge "and a point 40 metres or thereby south of the south kerbline of Princes Street". There is restricted access for vehicles from the Market Street end and tour buses that once clogged the bridge have relocated. The Edinburgh City Centre Transportation Plan (2019) envisaged Waverley Bridge as a "new world-class space and gateway to the city" that makes better use of the iconic view from the bridge with "a less visually intrusive bridge parapet", more events, and possibly an information cent…
Why there is a bus gate here (for 2 years) - from Edinburgh Reporter Waverley Bridge reopens to airport buses By Phyllis Stephen - June 30, 2024 10:24 am 428 0 Share From Sunday Waverley Bridge will no longer be a pedestrian priority street, as set out in the council’s Future Streets policy, when airport buses begin using it again as a terminus. A bus gate was put in place on 24 June allowing both Lothian and McGill’s to run their airport services from Waverley Bridge as they did before 2020 when the bridge was stopped up at Princes Street. At that point a taxi rank was retained on the bridge and commercial vehicles continued to access Waverley Mall, but pedestrians enjoyed a quieter space where buskers gathered. The move has come about as a result of the bus stop at South St David Street closing during the development of the former Jenners’ store into a hotel and retail units. Transport Convener Scott Arthur has confirmed that bus operators know that it is expected that buses will move back to South St David Street after the two year closure. Footpaths at the north and south entrances to Princes Street Gardens will be widened and traffic from Princes Street will be prevented from a right turn onto Waverley Bridge. https://theedinburghreporter.co.uk/2024/06/waverley-bridge-reopens-to-airport-buses/

I’m sad to see the state of #KoMoot after the laying off 80% of their workforce. They made it the app that it is. I will no longer pay for the subscription and want to phase out into another app. Does anyone have any suggestions for a good alternative to Komoot/Strava?
Nice wee bike ride to the pier for a Sunday #FishSupper at sunset with some lovely humans. What’s not to love about that?
Absolutely. I be able to do our weekly shop and the cat’s monthly shop in one go. Carry donations of clothes and books that has been gathering in our attic to the local charity drop offs, also drop off some larger old, broken garden furnitures at the local recycling centre. That’s a start.
To express how big this is: I just spoke to someone who has worked in migration services in Germany for several years, and their immediate reaction was to burst into tears of relief. Yes, this news has come late: but at least it is here. There is now no legal doubt about who and what the AfD are.
#overheard at Glasgow QS station from US tourists.
“They’re not as sophisticated here than in London. . .”
Mate, ya need to speak up a bit more cause I don’t think the Glaswegians heard ya.
Also if it wasnae THAT ‘sophisticated’, why are you lot looking LOST AF like you’re in the Sahara?!
Yesterday was such a nice sunny Saturday in #Scotland. Roads and paths were calling, couldn’t resist sneaking a short ride around the city after a visit to the chiropractor. #NoLycraCycling
This shouldn’t be my reaction

Watching #NoOtherLand on channel 4oD so late was a mistake on my end. There is no way I’m gonna be sleeping with all this rage watching all the atrocities and injustice the Palestinians faced. How can western media turn a blind eye to this. #enraging

I hear some folk find it hard to multi-task, somehow I’m not surprised.
Last week, went on a quick bike ride because of the spring weather. Thought it was lovely so stopped for a quick bike and attire check. No one should have to ever buy ‘dedicated’ and cycling specific clothes to ride a bike. #NoLycraCycling #JustRide
Lessons from #codemonkeychronicles
It is easier to point fingers and blame <insert random reason/person/process here> for everything that’s gone wrong, than to use the very same fingers to work towards a solution.
‘Blame’ is a byproduct of inefficiency in work processes.
