If you're interested in Traveller at all, this is very very good. A fascinating, thorough, warts-and-all account of the history of the game. Also, refreshingly, unlike some other RPG celebs of the era, Marc Miller comes across as quite a decent chap.

Many English-speaking players have said they want a translation, so I am convincing the author to translate them into English.

These two games were also featured at Portal Con, China's largest TTRPG exhibition, where trial versions were available at Joypie's booth.

In this game, the trials from AGON are transformed into challenges the band must overcome to reach bigger stages, such as fan backlash, family opposition, and friendship conflicts. (2/2)

The other is a girls' band TTRPG inspired by "Bang Dream!" and "THE IDOLM@STER," titled "少女乐队物语". In this game, player is members of a girls' band. (1/2)

The trials in AGON are cleverly adapted into the concept of "渡劫" (Crossing the Tribulation) from xianxia novels. "渡劫" refers to the tribulations sent by the heavens at certain stages of cultivation (training to become a xian, or immortal) in Chinese xianxia literature. (2/2)

One is a xianxia TTRPG inspired by the novels "Investiture of the Gods" and "Journey to the West," titled "千劫封神录" . In this game, players take on the roles of practitioners or cultivators. (1/2)

Influenced by European and American TRPGs, Narrative TRPG brought by indie TRPG, such as Fabula Ultima and Daggerheart, are gaining traction in China.

With no official Chinese edition of 5e, alternatives such as Soul of Mist and The One Ring TRPG have found success in the market.

【The Current State of D&D in China】
Today, 5e and 3.5e are the two rule sets most commonly played in China, with 5e having now surpassed 3.5e.
Pathfinder—often jokingly called “3.75e”—is also very popular and is sometimes seen as China’s third most-played TRPG.

The Chinese original commercial TRPG Journey Through the Martial World (侠界之旅), crowdfunded last year, was also deeply influenced by D&D.

This was the first original commercial TRPG in China, and it came with two scenairos: Heluo Blueprints (河洛图纸) and Scroll of Nature (天然之卷).

D&D influenced the earliest original commercial TRPG in China. The novel Chronicles of Nine States I (九州志 I), published in 2007, included the Nine States D20 (九州 D20) system, created based on the 3.5e OGL.

Later on, Baldur’s Gate 3 exploded in popularity, bringing D&D into the mainstream. For context, the most-watched CoC video on Bilibili has about 3.5 million views, while the top Baldur’s Gate 3 video has over 17 million.

In the 5e era, the YouTube channel Critical Role gained popularity in China comparable to CoC replay videos.
