Andy Kershaw obituary Broadcaster who brought world music to a mainstream audience on BBC Radio 1 and travelled widely to report on conflict and the cultures that fascinated him

I became such a big fan of Andy Kershaw when I left Dublin to go to college in Bath - there was nothing like him on Irish radio back in the 1980s and early 1990s. What a constant breath of fresh air he was - think we could do with a few more Andys these days!

RIP Moya Brennan
I got into Clannad and her beautiful voice the moment I heard this stunning theme tune.
Obvious but true.

What would you call Spencer Tracy if you worked w/ him?

Sturges calls him "Spence" here. I've heard Ernest Borgnine call him "Tracy," Burt Reynolds call him "Mr. Tracy," and Katharine Hepburn call him "Spencer."

I would probably follow Kate's lead and call him Spencer.

Read Grant's article, if only to marvel at this incredible photo of Astrid Kirchherr standing at the front of the queue to the Cavern in 1964, a year after The Beatles had left Liverpool and two years after her boyfriend, Stuart Sutcliffe had died.

The climate, the rapid changes in nature and the growing absence of diversity are central themes in Magnhild Opdøl’s work. She captures moments from the time we live in before they disappear into history, erased from memory.

For the drawings in this RHA exhibition, Opdøl has worked in reverse,

Title: Easter Egg Hunt techniques inspired by great detectives

Panel 1: Sherlock Holmes.
Deduce the exact location of every egg from seemingly unrelated details without leaving your room. Send your amazed sidekick to fetch them.

Panel 2: Jack Reacher
Hit the garden hard and fast.
Take no prisoners
Get back on the road.
This approach results in a thrillingly intense hunt, but very few intact eggs.

Panel 3: George Smiley
Meticulously assess documents, people and motives. Then scrupulously collect the eggs and dejectedly wonder if any of it was worthwhile.
