The second doctor who pictured on a news article mentionning the arrest of a second doctor in a FGM case
Reposted with ALT cos its funny .
How using an algorithim to select photos for your news article is going:
Very Probably Not...
It’s summer, here’s something cool.
thanks John - and thankyou for the support!
Definitely going to try something more in this space - and The Devil's Sound will get out eventually....
This rarely-seen Glass Octopus was caught by an underwater robot during an expedition off the Phoenix Islands.
my grandma was from Glasgow. Splitting the atom would have been a Sunday morning warm up...
(They have a manifesto? I thought it was just frothing at the mouth and a bit of spat cheese hitting the camera)
Seems like a plan we can all get behind…
Any writers currently feeling less than productive can thank themselves they're not in the shoes of pulp author Alfred J Burks, who at his peak in the 1930s set himself a target to write 18,000 words a day.
A day.
A quick reminder.
Late pledges are always welcome. We’re still open for your business.

God Almighty, things are awful aren't they? If you can write some words, make some art, play some music, or create anything that makes you and anyone else feel even a tiny bit better for even a second then you should pour some energy into that.
It is *really* interesting. And has 23 hours left to fund.
Last call at the bar, everyone...
At this point, you could just pledge to say you think it's a great idea, and the likelihood of kickstarter collecting is so remote as to have this post end up on @fesshole.bsky.social as a way to extort money.
Go on. Three hours of immersive audio. For £18.
hi @juliansimpson.bsky.social (long time listener, fan, and backer!) - any chance of a repost? We're (probably) not going to make our target, but all the help very much appreciated...
(immersive audio/folk horror/serial experiences)
Thankyou John - and, frankly, just what the man said.
At this point, we're looking at other options too, so a pledge indicates interest, appetite, and we'll be in touch regardless.
(of course, if anyone knows someone with sixteen grand knocking about that would help too)
There are only three days left so it's unlikely it'll hit its goal, but there's a Kickstarter ongoing for a series of immersive audio stories set in the Withered Hill universe.

agreed - ego has taken a beating, but we're talking about next steps and George is being marketing-chipper about everything, as one would expect.
"The day before I went into hospital, I wrote out a document for my wife, detailing life insurance policies, bank passwords, that sort of thing, and ending with “bins go out Thursday”.
@davidmbarnett.bsky.social we love you and we're all very glad you're still here.
(And f*ck cancer.)
three days to go - it seems like we're in need of a minor miracle (plan b starts on Monday afternoon), but if you're minded to add your name to the 'interested' list, it's an offer that won't actually cost you anything right now..

(yes, my ego is battered)
this has reminded me of possibly the best book review I've ever seen, an anonymous marxist amazon review of the 1971 children's book "The Elephant and the Bad Baby"
Scratch Moss deserves all the stellar reviews it's going to get. I read it last year and was blown away. It is, as suggested, evidence of a writer hitting their stride and carving out a landscape all of their own.
Buy a copy today. Buy a copy for a friend too.
British library awards suggest regions. Four devolved nations, including north and south England? But yes, it’s pathetic.
It's horrific. It's just loose change.
There are approx 3000 libraries in the UK (maybe 4000). So a handful of books.
I can't find anything from the Government that suggests it's not a total figure. Every news outlet is simply parroting the press release anyway.
will be deleting this one as the labour account is a parody. Much like this government, one might add.
Also - before I do, am I imagining it, or wasn't Baroness Twycross the same person in the 'we're not ruling out an exemption to copyright for AI companies' clip?
I’M SORRY!?! DID YOU MISS A FUCKING ZERO OR TWO OFF THE END OF THAT FIGURE?? @ukparliament.parliament.uk
