helping @wyattdarat.bsky.social after he returned from a exchange program for work, coming back a very different man, and changing everyday. so many changes that the company even helped fund his move to a more suitable living space.

having said that i like the PaRappa songs too lol but its kinda night and day

aside from my memory being that the nigh-inscrutable quasi-improviastaional rhythm game system in these games is a little more functional overall in UmJammerLammy than in PaRappa 1, the songs are just way better imo. guitar solos are just less annoying for jazzy call-and-repeat i think

Like, fedi-socials already have a lot of drawbacks at a technical level but combined with the fact they seem to attract a type of user who is actively hostile to interacting with more than 5 people and feels the need to circle the wagons around their own little groups makes it feel so crazy to use

Mastodon culture was so bizarre when i was there. It was a mix of, like, the most regular boring posters imagineable, and like a dozen different instances who all had like 3 people on them each who were basically treating it like a private forum that just so happened to be exposed to other forums
