I also think a lot of the defences of “historical accuracy” for casting a white dude immediately fall apart considering Fennell cast Shazad Latif, who actually would’ve been a great choice for Heathcliff, as Edgar, who is literally of the English landed gentry (Jane Austen-y old money).

Apparently, I’m not done talking about Wuthering Heights today. Because what do mean this is the man who’s playing Edgar Linton??? Um hello, Shazad Latif should be Heathcliff. This is literally Heathcliff right here. This is nuts. What is wrong with Emerald Fennell? 🤦🏾‍♀️
