I don’t “network,” I make friends. Other artists are not my competition, they’re my beloved peers and sources of inspiration. We all have the same goal; to share our art. I’m not gonna corporatize my human relationships with them. I am in my sandbox playing and I hope they join me.

This whole debacle reminds me of the game Passpartout. The hipsters love your art until you actually get noticed. Then they turn on you for the rest of the game because you actually got somewhere and passed their arbitrary line between “indie creator to support” and “vile corporate entity to reject”
