Sadly I never learned Blender, I use Maya for Modeling & Animation and for Texturing 3dcoat & Photoshop

For me the most helpful thing is to stay in greyscale mode as long as possible and really just focus on the assets shapes and light/ shadow.
And rest depends on the brush.
In the video I do a really fast and rough painting work, because the asset is really small in the game later.
