The Dynasty Team over at Pitcher List kicked off a Prospect-Only Draft!
My First Pick (1.7): Sebastian Walcott (TEX)
He's got as much upside as any player in the Minors. Legitimate 30+ home run power with solid contact + walk rates. Still only 20-years-old and can debut this year

The two arms going to STL are Nate Dohm (NYM #14) and Frank Elissalt. Here is the Statcast breakdown of both arms.
Dohm is the more likely of the two to grow into a starter. 6'4" frame with a robust arsenal. 3.25 FIP, 28.8% K in 2025. Elissalt is a funky arm-slot reliever w/ good FB
Statcast Breakdowns of the three arms traded today:
1. Griffin Herring (COL): High extension, low velocity lefty.
2. Wellington Aracena (BAL): Average Expected stats + low extension in 6'3" frame
3. Cameron Foster (BAL): Tiny AAA sample size but early returns aren't encouraging
Another Sunday means another @pitcherlist.com Hitter Stash List!
Storylines featured this week:
- DeLauter & Basallo still headline the List ... for now
- Trade Deadline implications for J. Crawford and O. Caissie?
- Beavers & Long as underrated stashes

Exploring MLB Data w/ Tableau #2: Trade Deadline.
I was aiming to see if there were any major under/overperformers so far this season based on predictive and traditional stats. Then had the idea to use it to predict this year's deadline
Main Takeaway: Lots of buyers, not a lot of sellers.
Decided to try and get back into Tableau and other Data Viz tools with more time on my hands since graduating.
Big Takeaway: Shorter swing length doesn't compromise OPS and keeps whiff rate low. However, wOBA and HR's are notably lower with shorter swings.
Any suggestions or comments appreciated
Robbie Lavey (ORL/GW 2027 Eligible)
2025 GW: .311/.381/.463 (5 HR, 4 SB)
2025 ORL: .280/.486/.360 (0 HR, 1 SB)
1.1 years younger than average CCBL player. Ranks 8th in OPS (.847). Advanced approach for 19 y/o (9 BB's/8 K's). 5th best AVG in A10 among C (min. 200 PA's). One to watch for 2027 Draft
Jake McCoy (HAR/USC 2026 Eligible)
2025 USC: 60.0 IP/6.90 ERA/77 K's/1.70 WHIP
2025 HAR: 12.1 IP/1.46/25 K's/1.297 WHIP
Electric FB (92-95 mph) and mid-80s sweeper have allowed McCoy to strike out 46% of hitters he's faced on the Cape. Major issue with command though (13.7% BB in '25 with SC).
3. Josiah Ragsdale (BRW/BC 2025 Eligible)
2025 BC: .319/.418/.498 (5 HR, 30 SB)
2025 BRW: .400/.512/.486 (0 HR, 12 SB)
Speed is 100% his biggest asset (42/50 SB in 2025), but he has some pop too (14 HR in 146 NCAA G). Good NCAA walk rates (12-15%) + .399 '25 BABIP means speed will come into play.
2. Maika Niu (FAL/MAR 2025 Eligible)
2025 MAR: .276/.343/.560 (15 HR, 14 SB)
2025 FAL: .289/.385/.644 (4 HR, 5 SB)
Leads CCBL in HR, RBI (11), and OPS (1.029). Cut NCAA K rate from 26% to 18% this year. Quick swing + leg kick generates sneaky power despite a slight frame. Has played CF/SS in '25
1. RHP JT Quinn (CHA/UGA 2025 Eligible)
2025 UGA: 36.0 IP/2.75 ERA/49 K's/1.11 WHIP
2025 CHA: 14.0 IP/2.57 ERA/25 K's/0.929 WHIP
Dominant displays against Falmouth (10 K's) and Brewster (9 K's) showcasing 96-98 FB + plus SL. 22 career SEC starts + 6'6" frame should make him a top-100 pick as a SP
Early Cape Cod League standouts in 2025:
RHP JT Quinn (Chatman/Georgia, #127 MLB Draft Prospect)
SS/OF Maika Niu (Falmouth/Marshall)
OF Josian Ragsdale (Brewster/Boston College)
LHP Jake McCoy (Harwich/South Carolina)
C/1B/LF Robbie Lavey (Orleans/George Washington)

Cubs send Mervis to Miami for Vidal Brujan. Played pretty much every position in '24, but offensively has been subpar.
Brujan (Career, 201 Games): .189/.261/.270 ... -2.1 WAR
Chicago has cover at INF with Luis Vasquez & Gage Workman. Brujan's ceiling is lower than both of those guys. Strange move
