2nd grader's HW is correcting sentences on a worksheet (making sure the first letter is capitalized l, etc.).
7yo: "Can you help me correct this sentence?"
Me: "You know, this is my job. People pay me to correct their sentences."
7yo: "Seems pretty easy."

I'm getting emails from stores about ordering last-minute. We're TWO weeks away from Christmas; are we really already at the last-minute stage already?

Excerpt from article, reading, "Osceola apparently became ill with malaria. Following orders issued by General Thomas Jesup, the officers ignored the white Hag and seized Osceola and his men. I'm reading what must be a poorly scanned rendition of a journal article. Clearly the original must say "white flag," but I cannot help but be tickled by the idea that a "white Hag" warned Jesup and tried to keep him from capturing Osceola at that meeting.

I'm at the editing stage where I fix a few words, then doomscroll for 30 mins. Then fix something else, repeat. Yet I still hope to be done by noon today so that I can enjoy the a holiday break.

Now I'm eating an entire thing of chocolate-covered almonds. This container was supposed to last more than 5 minutes.

I was unclear: I was a high school student at Uni and used the typewriter in the Uni library (c. 1999).

I actually used a typewriter in the Uni library for some application in the late 90s. I have no idea what kind of typewriter it was, nor what the application was. No way it was this one, right?

Is anyone who's not already officially on vacation actually getting any work done today? I am at my desk trying to whip this draft into shape, and it turns out I'm totally checked out.

Apparently I'm now at the age where I take pictures of birds in my yard. This friend was flitting around my car while I was in the driveway. Pretty sure it's a ruby-crowned kinglet (thanks, Merlin app!)
