LGBTQ+ History MONTH
London tours & talks this weekend
Sunday, 15th February:
National Gallery - LGBTQ+ History Month 2026 tour & talk by Dr Tilly Scantlebury (Free; first come, first served)
British Museum - Desire, love, identity – an LGBTQ+ tour of the British Museum (Free; advance booking essential)
Tate Britain - LGBTQIA+ Tours at Tate Britain (Free)

Duncan Grant’s Bathing (1911) in the lower left corner, a bold, modernist depiction of male nudes bathing outdoors. The men are arranged in relaxed poses—some standing, some bending or sitting—clustered near what appears to be water. Their bodies are simplified and solid, outlined with strong, dark contours.

The colours are bold and non-naturalistic, with areas of pinkish flesh tones set against deep greens and blues of trees and foliage. The background is made up of broad, flattened planes of colour rather than detailed scenery.
