I discovered that there had actually been several seasons of Ascendance of a Bookworm that I'd missed, so I binged them last week to catch up.
I gotta say, I see so many anime now that treat the system as unchangeable and eternal, rather than something that can be overthrown and changed.

In Supercapitalismland, employed women don't exist, just like the poor, the sick, etc.
Silly people, AllBirds aren't real!
Ssshhhh! Don't ruin a good thing!
The music shows I've planned lately have paid little or nothing. The merch I made to sell at them has been mostly ignored. Music now pays nothing due to streaming killing CDs.
I need 1500€ monthly earned locally to stay in the country. What to do?
I quickly realizing that anything interesting or fun or good is economically unviable.
If it doesn't feel like selling your soul, it won't make enough money to pay the bills.
NEVER!
I'm deathly afraid of dogs, and it gives me the chills when I'm in a supposedly safe place like a restaurant or a store and one is running around.
I opened my front door to look out the other day, and one tried to come in and I screamed so hard!
Dogs are like smoking; never in public, please!
Well, I literally have to earn a certain amount of money or Germany kicks me out, so it's kinda important that other people are interested in paying for it, unfortunately.
"Escape from the USA" - Sandra Plissken, former Green Beret who transitioned during combat, must find the stolen formula for MAGA COVID and exfiltrate it from the Pariah States of America so that a cure can be found before the world dies coughing.
"Headshot" - An out of work actor and former soldier is radicalized by his girlfriend's death due to insurance denying her claim. He calmly plans and carries out his revenge on the CEOs of every single health insurance company, while still trying to make it as an actor.
"Anti-fans" - A group of local sports fans bands together to thwart ICE agents when they kidnap the star pitcher of their favorite nemesis team! Their exploits spark a national movement!
It occurs to me that the current news cycle should be fresh fodder for entertainment writing. Imagine the possibilities:
"Be Gay, Do Crimes" - Trans women band together to free their friend who was arrested for using the correct toilet. Heist movie format. Forms "criminal" cabal for more adventures!
Thing is, I tend to boil these things down to a single lecture.
Not much repeat when you spill all the beans day one.
I didn't know much about getting folks to absorb information.
I have some useful insights, but would they be equipped to understand them?
Teaching is a skill of is own...
I'm rather enjoying teaching simple Arduino stuff to my student, and am wondering if setting up some paid classes for people would be a good/marginally profitable idea?
I could teach stuff like
C/C++ Basics
Arduino & MCUs
Assembly intro
Retro computer/ console dev
MIDI use/dev
Modular synth
Easy 🎵
And, if you haven't escaped from the US, why bother working, or doing anything at all?
You are just funding your own demise.
Working hard to make billionaires richer so they can find skating your rights further?
Why bother?
Why not actively avoid doing that at all costs?
What is the point of going to the moon, if your entire government is devoted to destroying happiness, freedom, security, & autonomy for the entirety of the world population?
Just to show people in the gutter how much money we could have spent to save them but instead spent on useless grandstanding?
It's really hard for me to see anything that comes out of the US anymore without suspicion.
So much of the Artemis Livestream seemed like propaganda to me, and I wondered who the target was. The world? US citizens? Congress? The President?
Also, why bother if you can't take care of everybody?
No ¢?
This.
Nobody will be a citizen.
Anybody can be declared "illegal" and killed or enslaved at any time.
It sounds like they are just doing after children of immigrants, but if they say you aren't a citizen, & grab you & throw you in a slave camp, who can say otherwise without risking the same fate.
I always tell people that I will never commit suicide because there are too many bad people I need to outlive. It would be awful if I did before them and couldn't... dance... on their graves.
I got banned from twitter in 2023 for this drawing. They called it "violent speech". It had over 40K likes and too many comments for me to read before my ban, but I still see it floating around here and there. Save a copy, and use it freely. No attribution needed. Love u

So, for those in states where it is illegal for a trans person to use a gender assigned restroom, is it also illegal to change the designation on a restroom to "gender neutral" or "trans inclusive"?
Because, it would be pretty easy to 3d print those signs...
For some reason, I thought I was booked for a Trans Day of Remembrance show... it turns out to have been Trans Day of Visibility instead.
D'oh!
That's better then, really!
I wonder how I ever got that idea... up until now, nobody had corrected me.
I'm very tired...
Had a great time playing the Trans Day of Remembrance show at Schwester! My 15 minute set ended up being 45 minutes. We got video, but I forgot to turn on the field recorder. Ugh.
if you're a gamer you should know that the gaming industry has a disproportionately large number of trans people in it. and not just recently. even in the 80s, we had influential trans game designers.
one that's always inspired me is danielle bunten berry.

No, because it will be used to criminalize LGBT content for adults, add complexity to informative websites, and be used to built tracking databases that will be used against us.
Don't give the authoritarians more tools, ok?
As somebody who did / is doing this; it ain't easy.
I went to Germany, because Berlin is pretty much where all the trans people in Europe go, and it's great here, but the bureaucracy is killing me.
I think the best is to come on education visa, then find a job.
Health insurance as US citizen is PITA
couldn't come up with better PR for transgenders than "underground transgender mafia successfully heisted 12 tonnes of Kitkats"
Realized I was probably asexual in my 40s.
I was very isolated then, so it didn't sting that much.
Now that I have a bunch of friends who have dates and partners, I'm feeling the knowledge that I'm never have that quite acutely.
Sex is gross, but there is no closeness without it.
Evidently.
Sad.
Queer Bsky: How old were you when you came out and how old are you now?
Trans ideas since I was 7.
Started crossdressing at 12, very closeted and ashamed.
Out and proud as CD/TV at 34, but sad that transition wasn't for me.
COVID caused much revaluation, at 52 started transition.
Full time at 54.
