The Ladybugs actually performed on The Ed Sullivan Show, independent of a program episode but inspired by episode 27 of Petticoat Junction.
It was probably a promotional stunt since both programs are on CBS.

Bernie Kopell, as Black Salmon, who dresses up to do his father a favor.
New doctor, played by Adam West.
Bad influence and all around jerk of a boyfriend, Dennis Hopper, in episode 16. Bobby Jo and the Beatnik. Perfect casting.
So far in season 1 of Petticoat Junction:
Bernie Kopell plays a Harvard (or Yale) educated Native in episode 26.
Adam West plays a young doctor in episode 17 & 18.
Dennis Hopper plays a bad influence and jerk boyfriend in episode 16.
Zelda is recognized by Dobie Gillis fans. Sally was played by Sheila Kuehl in this Petticoat Junction episode. The Dobie Gillis series ended in 1963. Dobie and Zelda were shown as married in one of the later reunion movies, but not in the original series.
The performance is a little cringe, but the dialogue is interesting. It seems every 1960's sitcom had a rock and roll episode to attract young viewers while assuring older adults that it was all stupid.
"Colonel Partridge" seems a lot like a Colonel Parker type character.

I liked it better than Star Wars. I got a lot of heat for that, back in the day.
"He's weird", that sort of thing.
Actually, the TV series Emergency! had an exclamation point, so I write it that way.
Ella Fitzgerald was the first to sing Cry Me a River but Julie London became famous for the song.

Julie London as Nurse Dixie McCall from Emergency.
Emergency TV series (1972 1979). Dr. Brackett & Nurse Dixie McCall.
We've all seen Emergency! sometime in our lives. It still runs in syndication. I think it's a MeTv show. I remember the first run in the early 70's. It was exciting.
The camera framed Nurse McCall's face as if we were supposed to know her. It turns out older people probably did (attached).
WW II: Mysteries in the Archives 1938 - 1948.
I really enjoyed this. They go over film footage in a way that is interesting. There's an episode on the Tokyo war trials.
I would start with episode 2 (not 1).
I found it on Prime Video (free if you are a member). Also free on Tubi and Pluto TV.
Still holds the record as the best selling piano single of all time.

When his dummy was mangled in a train crash, Senor Wences #BOTD walked onstage for his next booking carrying a box containing only its head. Removing the lid, he asked, "Pedro, you are OK?" When the head replied in a sepulchral voice, "S'awright!", a catchphrase as well as a career was born.
Here's a New York story I didn't know. This video has some interview clips with a former helicopter pilot who made the run.

I remember that sound before polyeurothane wheels.
1965.

Looking up the bicycle girl on imdb, led me to a Tony Perkins musical she was also in.
Unrelated, but a little interesting.

The Jefferson Memorial was completed, dedicated and opened as a National Memorial.
It's just a youngster.
I've been there and even I thought it was much older. My old High School building is almost that old.
He’s completely insane, but you already knew that. Yes, it’s real. Praise be to Allah.

Death Race 2000. My teenage self thought it was stupid. I think I would enjoy it now, better than back then.
The last movie I ever saw at a drive-in movie theater. Kung-Fu was big back then, so I wanted to see David Carradine. I didn't know Sylvester Stallone.
Better movies started coming out, and they were worth a drive to an indoor theater. Gas was considered high then, too.

I guess I thought Google would give the wrong answer. Two fuel tanks were painted.
ORSON WELLES at a Paris press conference in 1982 calling Oscar-winning director Elia Kazan a traitor for giving McCarthy the names of colleagues who were Communist Party members, were subsequently blacklisted and in many cases had their careers destroyed.
Wasn't it also the only time they painted the fuel tank white?
