I wholeheartedly agree with your statement π€πΌ
Oh my goodness!
And you managed such a fabulous photo π
A Horned Grebe parent floats on the green water of a prairie marsh. She is rust coloured with grey wings, black throat and straw coloured feathers tufted out on the top of her head. And of course red eyes! There are two black and white striped babies riding on her back and facing forward. They have red patches on their faces.
All aboard the Grebe Taxi!
These very young horned grebe babies ride in style when out on the marsh. Soon theyβll be too big, but for now, Mom needs some navigational assistance!

Why would you screenshot instead of sharing her post?
I drive slow on my driveway to give all of the many critters time to get out of the way.
This morning I had to creep along for 100 yards because 6 of the baby Wild Turkeys couldn't figure out how to leave the road.
Mama finally called them & they flew up over the tall grass to continue their day π

Only a handful I know are around regularly enough that I see them.
I'm hardly home these days unfortunately.
When I saw Jen post a photo from there, I smiled and thought "what a wonderful time they will have together".

Wow! So happy for you to see such major results of your efforts!
America's public lands are perhaps the single greatest asset our country has. Protected wilderness, open space parks, BLM, Forest Service, and grazing lands are without a doubt our richest resource, and aside from generating *literally* trillions in revenue, they're also vital for our survival.

Oh my goodness π
That's so beautiful!
WooHooo!
I'm thrilled for you π
When that happens you have to just sigh with delight that at least you will have the memory of the experience.
Thank you!

Wowee!
You know you must be Really Old when you are celebrating a 33 year wedding Anniversary π
This is incredible.
There are SO MANY really cool birds!
Good advice
Two striking birds with long necks, deep blue wings, and chestnut-red bodies are perched among dense green foliage. Both have long, wispy pale blue plumes extending from the backs of their heads, and thin vertical lines running down their necks. One bird is bent forward near a nest, while the other stands upright with its neck curved in a display posture.
The Agami Herons spend a lot time together keeping an eye on the nest. One adult will brood or stand above the eggs, regulating the temperature, while the other will stand by...looking gorgeous. But they do switch roles.

Bears like π too
π
We have so many Admiral butterflies right now that you have to drive really slow so they have time to get off the driveway.
Everything is still beautifully green π
So wonderful π
If the cop doesn't catch the AI inserting false claims then that's the same thing as the cop lying, because they're still responsible for what's entered.
I didn't get any photos, but just yesterday morning, across our little valley, a wild turkey hen took on a black bear to fight for her babies.
Absolutely jaw-dropping. A week since returning from the Plains & I keep coming back to this β my fave shot of the trip: a stunning mothership supercell. Nothing compares to turning around and seeing this! Speechless!
