Sensing of extracellular L-Proline availability by the integrated stress response determines the outcome of cell competition Cell competition is a quality control acting from development to the adult that eliminates cells that are less-fit than their neighbours. How winner cells induce the elimination of losers during this ...

Very happy to share the latest preprint from the lab. We find that during cell competition, winners induce an increase in proline metabolism in loser cells, and this drives their elimination through repression of the integrated stress response.

Inceptor binds to and directs insulin towards lysosomal degradation in β cells - Nature Metabolism The insulin inhibitory receptor (inceptor) is found to bind to insulin and to regulate insulin stores by directing proinsulin and insulin towards lysosomal degradation.

Thrilled to share one of our biggest discoveries: “Inceptor binds to and directs insulin towards lysosomal degradation in beta cells”.
