Also, while the requirements to unlock it are a shining example of insanity in the GameFreak office, Challenge Mode is such a nice breath of fresh air that I could only wish they would provide as an option in more recent entries.

Main issues are the lack of variety in the Unova region (and you'll never experience the four seasons on a regular playthrough) and getting forced into triple/rotation battles often, but that's not enough to dampen the experience significantly.
A sudden bout of Pokefever inspired me to run through Black/White 2 for the first time. Not quite an all timer, but still enjoyable enough to remind you as to why the pre-3D era of Pokemon was so charming in the first place.

Perpetually exhausted both physically and mentally, but still trying to do better
And speaking of shoutouts, good lord that soundtrack. Absolutely top class compilation of battle themes, arguably one of Meguro's best across such a long and fruitful career. While I wish the series was stronger overall, I'm still glad I checked it out, so that's a win.
I think I'd chalk it up to the story feeling much more rounded with memorable moments in the end. Big shoutouts to my lad Gale, who shined so much he wound up being an easy favourite across both games.
Got my ass in gear and finished up Digital Devil Saga 2. Somehow it's a more enjoyable experience than 1 in spite of it fixing...almost none of 1's flaws.
Also fuck Trump and ICE and Netanyahu and Israel and right wing cunts and also scratch your necks for Charlie Kirkie boi
Still plan on jumping into 2 to see where it all goes, but I sure hope there's big improvements on almost all fronts. And if there isn't, at least I know there's a banger soundtrack to look forward to.
The skill progression system is interesting at first, but wears thin as you progress. Even worse is you're almost required to use up valuable skill slots to help said progression in the first place, making regular battles towards the end exhausting and almost not worth fighting at all.
Finished Digital Devil Saga 1. Great atmosphere and art direction that really nails the atmosphere, yet let down by pretty much everything else. Dungeons are boring at best and beyond tedious at worst, the encounter rate can be awful at times, and the ending almost made me laugh at how abrupt it is.
Tryna get my hands on the Charlie Kirk remix of It Was A Good Day
I need it to be Sunday yesterday or the anticipation is gonna drive me crazy
The Pokebug struck so I ended up playing through Platinum for the first time. I'd always heard mostly negative stuff about Gen IV, but Sinnoh was fun to journey through and there were some moments with genuinely great presentation, not to mention the catchy soundtrack. A truly pleasant surprise!
The god is here
Maybe the biggest disappointment was the arranged soundtrack itself; almost every track lacks the oomf of the original compositions, which was a big letdown after how high of a bar 1-3 set.
Ended up jumping right into FF4 after FF3. A surprisingly brisk experience vs how I remembered it, and still full of childhood nostalgia. That said, it's a very uneven experience overall, and spending a huge chunk of the game with a genuinely horrid party really detracts from the experience overall.
And once again I feel compelled to give a shoutout to the soundtrack because these Pixel Master arranges might just be some of the best arrange work we've ever had the pleasure of being blessed with.
Finished FF3 Pixel Remaster. The original NES experience was enjoyable albeit brutal, so it only makes sense that the same would apply here given all the QOL improvements. It's a shame they couldn't rebalance all the jobs to allow for a bit more diversity, but I had a good time regardless.
Every day I feel like I'm not good enough
