wood companies will say some insane bullshit and then u find out they destroyed half of vietnam for their wood like Ok. Well.

its funny to say i worry abt the sourcing of wood while doing shit with paper (also made of wood) but i find that researching paper companies is like 10x easier than wood ones

its why i only really want to do posters and stickers, since most of it is paper and has a better chance to be recycled and is much easier to dispose safely of than plastics haha. wood stuff might be fun but i worry abt the sourcing

in the same way it is for most products in the world. its why even if youre selling something thatll be treasured you need to be aware of how to discard it and if its a good idea to at it to the current trash ecossystem

when we talk about landfill and trash in art products, a lot of artists and buyers feel defensive and point out many people want to keep their products forever, and thats true! but things break, flake, fail to be sold and people pass way. the trash is the final destination of most art products

the piece i referenced is shearing day btw! i did it because i gifted it to my friend who gave me the pens. they love sheep

i was able to bribe another friend to give me their abandoned note block and i plan on repurposing it as a study sketchbook, since I find that i like being able to have them in one spot to look back on

my favorite hobby is stealing small notebooks that were clearly not meant for art and drawing on them. my mika sketchbook was one of those gift notebooks that companies give to workers and my friend gave it to me cuz they dont gaf abt that shit lol
