Tell that to all these Oscar, BAFTA (etc) ceremonies and fans waiting for an autograph. I can just imagine the Oscars:
"And this years prize for best foreign actor goes to XXX7"
Applause 👏.
"Ah, there's nobody to collect the Oscar, then?"

Whoops, sorry it's #politics again. Voila, @doubledown.news telling it like it is. Sadly, I'm not sure they're getting the message across. Here's Bob Vylan talking about fingers in pies (as you could say): youtu.be/gKboWQHtgr0?...
Wow, Rogue Trooper with a real story-line, that's something. I haven't really read 2000 AD and Rogue since the early eighties. But if I remember correctly he just wandered around on an endless mission. I hope the film starts with him wandering on screen and finishes with him just wandering off.
Okay, I understand.
?
Yes, but what is it?
Nice, very jealous. We have some good clubs in Brussels where you can always 'pop' in. But with the number of musicians 'hanging' there's never a guarantee that you can 'play a few'.
Somebody once pointed out to me that all we really do is pick our favourite distortion and stick to it. Every format has something to like about it and something to dislike about it.
Yep, but music doesn't need to have it, John. #RecordStoreDay was supposed to be about Record Stores, not a format. Record Stores sell CDs (if worth their salt). So why are there virtually zero CD releases for #RSD? Don't they want artists' barrel scrapings to be available without surface noise?
Oh, I have loads of stories to match that - I'm sure you do too. One of my favorites is the "but it will only take 5 minutes", when being asked to play something (for free, or little money). You know you'll be there three hours later, and fuming ... 🤯
Curious to hear the new offering from @visiblecloaks.bsky.social. I saw/heard them a few years ago in Brussels with Yoshio Ijima and Satsuki Shibano. An amazing concert, really a combination of music and stunning visuals. Anyhow, here they are again: visiblecloaks.bandcamp.com/album/parade...
Best returns of the day to you.
Many years ago, I remember being asked to play for a (very) big event in Brussels, and when asking them about my salary they said, "Oh, no it's not a paid event". I asked them if they were paid, "Yes", they said, "but we're the organizers". 😵💫
Looks great, I hope you'll record the set (which I'm sure you will). I'd love to hear it, since it's a bit far to come for an evening. Interesting that you call one of them the Make Noise rack, looks more like an AJH rack. So many interesting modules in there.
Nice, I'm going to look into that, looks a good idea - or I'll have to get rid of some.
Morning gents. inc. @hungryforsound.bsky.social
Morning Dave. I've been wondering what to do with all my CDs (too many). But, seeing your picture made me wonder what type of box are you using to store the CDs? It could be a solution for me too (putting them long ways on into the shelf). 🤔
lush and flowering plants under a tree. and a colorful bike.
bravo to the people who take care of this little brussels jungle 🌴
i keep getting promos for Dave's concert at the Anthem in a few days and I can't go, but his new video is stunning...i know from the viewcount that I am just late to the party but www.youtube.com/watch?v=Awnf...
Amazing album it was too. I bought a copy when Island (yes, that Island records) decided to re-release it in 1977. I was just starting to listen to jazz!
10 stars for Trio AAB!

A beautifully chilled album. Something really memorable about it that lifts above most 'beautifully chilled' albums.
And the cover has the brooding angst bit that always gives it a 'this may answer the question of life' look. 😉
They'll be rising again shortly if the US doesn't reel in the playground bully and local pariah, Israel! #politics
I think this version still works : music.youtube.com/watch?v=do-a...
You know, when I was 13 I remember seeing this record. I'd just bought 'Here Comes the Warm Jets' and was ready for more Eno. However, I never did buy the record (I'm not sure why), and to this day I still haven't heard it! Maybe it's time to change that. 🤔
Morning Dave. Curious to know which Island is spinning around in your photo?
Also just realised they played this very piece on April 1st in Namur (Belgium). If I'd known I'd have gone to hear it. Anyhow, great tip and another baroque ensemble I can now follow.
It looks like it's this version, correct? If so, sounds wonderful. I also love the small instrumentation, excellent. Will certainly look this out. youtu.be/OXN--KvT-Nw?...
