A better idea is to get involved in someone else's project. Since it's their project they will be motivated from the beginning.
I was in a similar position, but thanks to getting implicated in local meetups and game jams, I managed to find a couple of people. The next problem however is to keep people motivated. They might have days jobs and very little time to help you. In the end I still do 95% of the work solo.
2 musicians on a boat are leaving their meso-american village behind for a new adventure. TechnoMayan, a game that asks the question: what if America was never discovered; and answer with: the Maya would go discover a new continent instead.
