Building on A Handheld History and The Console Chronicles, we're pairing research-driven retrospectives with personal essays to chart the chronological and emotional stories that make each genre what it is today! 🔗⤵️

Mario 2D classic are all the 2D platforming games and Zelda are the top-down, isometric titles. Mario 3D linear are the level-based 3D games like Galaxy and 3D world, while Zelda's are the console games between Ocarina of Time and Skyward Sword. And then Mario 3D Sandbox is Super Mario 64, Sunshine & Odyssey, and for Zelda it's the Wild-verse games.

Was talking to a friend earlier about The Legend of Zelda and I think I want the series to go the same way as Super Mario did, regarding how it breaks down its main series games.

I was talking about Sunshine last night! I watched it at the cinema late in its life in the middle of the day. I was the only person there. Incredible experience for me and there’s a sfx forever etched into my brain from jt. Hope you like(d) it!

Love Starfox but I’m done with the story from snes/64/wiiU. Folks rag on command and assault but I like that they told new stories with pretty classic gameplay. Give me a new story or characters-give me Marcus and make it a father son story with Fox! Just *something* new 😅
