NEW: A cop who chased, shot, and killed a young father in 2021—and then started training new recruits after avoiding firing—is accused of violating CPD policies over an unreported vehicle chase last year.
One of the car's passengers was killed, and Evan Solano is still on duty in the 16th District:

anyway the campaign expired in december, and our renewal proposal was voted down, so we're gone now
2PTO was dropped from the campaign platform last june, much to the chagrin of our employee members. our campaign steering committee (which i was on for 6 months) was understaffed and everyone was dealing with life shit, so we (me specifically) dropped the ball on talking to other groups
was this the town hall last october? the pro-cop thing was from a bus driver who afaik isn't a member, and the next speaker disagreed with him. we didn't exercise any control over what the panelists said
i've only encountered one person in CDSA who explicitly stated they're in favor of cops on transit, everyone else recoiled at that (myself included)
no one should be interacting with the DNC panda
earliest i've ever cut myself off
As the parks department destroys people’s belongings, a CPD officer decides to keep an American flag as the only thing saved from the trash truck.
As of now, I am told that none of the residents of Legion Park have a key (secured housing) to go to. They have been told for months that the parks department would work to secure them housing before the sweep.
March 17, 8:15 am, Legion Park - Community members gather to support the residents of Legion Park, which is scheduled to be sweeped by the Chicago Parks District at 9 am. Residents of the park are gathering their things in 15 degree weather. Many don’t know where they will sleep tonight.

Three cheers for IL Governor JB Pritzker, Broadview Mayor Katrina Thompson, Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart, Illinois State Police Director Brendan Kelly, and all the other local officials who showed the feds that Illinois cops can beat protestors with the best of them.
