I’m gonna do this soon.

Corrupt, ignoble, dishonorable people should be kicked out of public service regardless of which party they’re in. Duh.
I still find it hilarious that Bari Weiss had a “debate” relatively recently on some issue between a team red person vs a team blue person, and Bari chose The Dersh as the team blue person.
Uhhhh, his views diverged from team blue *decades* ago.
Async is possibly my favorite album of the past decade, by any artist.
I’ve seen US Dems described as “20 parties in a trench coat.”
why do things like this never happen to me
A tweet from Pope Leo XIV that reads: “When simulation becomes the norm, it weakens the human capacity for discernment. As a result, our social bonds close in upon themselves, forming self-referential circuits that no longer expose us to reality. We thus come to live within bubbles, impermeable to one another. Feeling threatened by anyone who is different, we grow unaccustomed to encounter and dialogue. In this way, polarization, conflict, fear and violence spread. What is at stake is not merely the risk of error, but a transformation in our very relationship with truth.”
Apparently the Pope has read Baudrillard.
“Taxpayers” is technically all of us. If you buy a pack of gum, you pay sales tax. But “taxpayers” as used by politicians usually means the top deciles of income earners. It’s as though if you work a job that pays poorly you are less of a person and your preferences and priorities can be dismissed.
Going back to school and re-skilling is one thing when you’re 28 or 33 but it’s another thing entirely when you’re 56.
I recently turned 50 and am genuinely unsure about how to prepare or respond to these rapid economic and societal changes.
And buying guns should not be part of the answer.
Is he bragging about a spike in terrorist attack plots?
Good point. My pet peeve is when politicians say the word “taxpayers.”
It's just crazy to see a genuine star in the Democratic Party talking about the *working class*. Not *working families* not *the middle class* not *ordinary Americans*.
The working class. Words two consecutive generations of Democrats were bullied into never speaking aloud.
I think Sennheiser has a lifetime warranty on everything. Contact their customer support and see what they say.
Oooh. Do you recommend the Oliveros book?
It's probably because the event is about psychedelics. Dems should have done this. It's decades overdue. Let's agree that it's lame that we're letting the GOP/Trump get the W on this issue.
post the best picture you have ever taken of your pet (if you feel like it):
Uh oh, I was scrolling and skimming and just read “Mind-at-Large” as “Mar-a-Lago.” 😩
I love used bookstores. They’re a tradition in my family.

Tweet from Elon Musk: "*Soros Organization has taken over Hungary"
Antisemitism is structurally necessary for Elon Musk's politics, because he wants to brand himself as the insurgent populist fighting the elite, but as the world's wealthiest person, he needs a definition of "elite" that is not strictly rooted in wealth or corporate ownership.
Man I get pre-diabetic just *looking at* the 20oz drink section of every gas station.
NEWS: Huge first win for Mayor Mamdani’s tax-the-rich plans in NYC.
Mamdani just secured a deal with Gov. Hochul to create the state’s first-ever tax on $5 million+ second homes owned by ultrawealthy out-of-state residents.
"WARNING: Faint hearted and closed-minded beware!"
Now that's how you announce a concert, as a threat.
Incredible sequel. Edge of my seat!
put them back!!
conservative free speech is when they speak and you listen or suffer the consequences
I don’t know the violin concerto. Janáček is a blind spot. I only know the piano CD on ECM by Schiff. www.discogs.com/master/11132...
The nonprofit that runs the successful, Pulitzer-winning Baltimore Banner is going to take over the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Of all the possible outcomes here, this is likely the best we could have hoped for.

Trump is touting the no tax on tips provision in his budget bill.
But many tipped workers won't benefit because their earnings are so low. And the provision expires in 2028.
The estate tax cuts that primarily benefit the rich? Those were made permanent.
Funny how that works.
