We still don’t know the official causes of the fires in Pacific Palisades and Altadena, but we know that a unique combination of weather and climate factors made them much worse.

Scientists were shocked by how warm it was in 2023. The following year was even hotter Copernicus says the global temperature for all of 2024 was 1.6 degrees above pre-industrial level.

A record we didn’t want to break.
