Assorted Haiku

Haiku #2511

Tourists wait in line
to enter Machu Picchu.
Oh, look! A high queue.

Haiku #564127

how dare you suggest
I have a short attention
spanish omelette

Limeraiku

There once was a young
limerick from Kew who turned
into a haiku.

The Constraints of Haiku

Tied up all night with
a haiku dominatrix
and her three-line whip.

Shakespearean Haiku

Shall I compare thee
To a summer’s day? Alright –
Thou art pretty hot.

How to Write a Haiku

The last line should flow
seamlessly from the first two –
hippopotamus.

It’s International Haiku Day apparently and so for today’s poetry offering, here are a few assorted haiku.

Expansion of Public Services Card into national ID card is a legal quagmire, say ICCL and DRI Key elements of the Public Services Card are operating unlawfully, according to the Data Protection Commission.

The media reports today that a new bill proposes to expand the Public Services Card's use in Irish society.

Key elements of the PSC operate unlawfully. With @digitalrightsirl.bsky.social, we say that extending its use as a form of national ID compounds the legal issues.

We have one team heading to Edenmore and then two potential away semis in Balbriggan and Navan Rd. If M50 is blocked good luck with any of those.

Is this another thing I'm going to have to get a Public Services Card for before I can use it? Mandatory but not compulsory to strike again.

The evidence to date is that LLMs are generally none of those things.

🚨 Output from large-scale solar farms on the island of Ireland reached a new high yesterday afternoon of 1078MW, equal to roughly 22% of all-island demand around 1pm. This is the *third time* this record has been broken so far this month ☀️

Solar's now reaching peaks 20% higher than last autumn 📊

The combined winning margins need to be about 100 points. So possible but unlikely.

Graph of crude oil price spiking and then coming back down

So I assume by Friday diesel will be back down to normal price again. Seeing as CircleK et al were so fast to jack up prices at the end of last week.

All of this. Plus their makers stole all our work, are trying to change our IP laws to lionise this theft, took a sledgehammer to the creative economy and successfully reframed predictive text generation as the zenith of artistic achievement

Also, the fascism

A Day in the Life of an Ensh*ttificator
A Day in the Life of an Ensh*ttificator YouTube video by Forbrukerrådet - Norwegian Consumer Council

"Make people dependent enough, and then make it shitty"

Still giggling at this hilarious video from the Norwegian Consumer Council "A Day in the Life of an Ensh*ttificator" which seems a perfect embodiment of Silicon Valley and tech generally these days

Thanks to @tupped.bsky.social and others I don't have a Public Services Card. But it seems that I will get one automatically if I verify my MyGovId which I would like to do to access other services. Guess it's still mandatory but not compulsory.
