What does the letter J stand for? This is a mystery that will never be solved.
Great article with one major exception - you incorrectly describe Jordan Peterson and Douglas Murray as 'academics.' An 'academic' is someone who works within academia. Murray is and has never been an academic. Jordan Peterson is an ex-academic, like Goodwin. These are important distinctions to make
TC is a sad example of a very smart and erudite person whose brain has melted by spending too much time on X
'How many books by Anthony Smith have you read?' In my case, about 10, which is ~10 more than Goodwin has apparently read. To paraphrase Lloyd Bentsen, I studied with Anthony Smith, I knew Anthony Smith, Anthony Smith was a friend of mine. Matt, you are no Anthony Smith.

The BBC says these completely innocent women were “killed by the war”. They were not - they were killed by US or Israeli bombing. For God’s sake be honest why can’t you? www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
One thing that you could add is that US law states that if you have a right to US citizenship then you have to obtain it, which is not true for all states
I've also read Walker Connor's work closely over many years, and neither he nor Anthony were ever interested in prescribing immigration policies of any kind. This is really trashy writing which, Matt's other writings, deserves no serious attention from any rational individual. 2/2
Unlike Matt, I studied with and knew Anthony Smith personally, and he never would have agreed with Matt's politics. He was a Jewish son of a German immigrant and made a notable distinction in his writings between how nations have ethnic origins but can have flexible and assimilative properties. 1/2

This is the same idiotic argument whereby academic freedom is somehow violated when someone controversial is invited to speak at a university and is then disinvited, as if they had a sacrosanct right to be invited to speak in the first place.
The easiest way to understand antisemitism among the Right is their attitude towards George Soros
Just out: the new @vdeminstitute.bsky.social is clear:

Two major mistakes here: 1) the high profile of evangelical Christian nationalists in the US, who are happy to precipitate the Second Coming, which is in no way comparable in Europe, and 2) the fact that American fascists' leaders is a demented, incredibly stupid man who has no equivalent in Europe.
Anyone who claims there is even a single house in the UK where no one speaks 'a word of English' (not even Hello or OK?) is clearly full of sh*t. But for someone who formerly identified as an academic this is truly despicable.

Quote from Washington Times editorial board "[Radical liberals] don't realize that, when they express contempt for the man who holds the country's highest office, they reveal their contempt for the Americans who put him there."
Uh no...we definitely realize it.

I disagree - no one in the line of succession was arrested in 1936! The fact that QEII and CIII allowed their son/brother to engage in potentially illegal activities with no oversight does indeed suggest very poor judgement in both case.
Very unlikely - it was Buckingham Palace who promoted Andrew's appt as Trade Envoy in the first place, at a time when he was already best buddies with Epstein. If you keep pulling on the thread this scandal will likely only get bigger and bigger.

It is also worth pointing out that British republicanism has been gaining a lot of support in the past decade, with >25% support in polls leading up to 2024. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Republi...
Just a reminder to those in the UK that it is possible that Andrew would not have been arrested without a crime report sent to the police by the CEO of the anti-monarchist group Republic. I joined on the day I became a British citizen. Membership only costs £30 per year! www.republic.org.uk
