Proactivity over reactivity. A lot of students end up "falling through the cracks" because they were being disciplined instead of being provided support and resources to succeed. #TeacherEd #SpEd

I always push the fact that I'm here to help them learn, but can't read their minds. They need to know I'm on their side but if they're struggling, speaking to me before/during/after class is the only way we can come up with a solution. #TeacherEd #SpEd

Check-ins are huge! Making sure if I notice them struggling to get started, to check if there's a roadblock or they were off-track. Connection builds opportunities for growth. #TeacherEd #SpEd

Movement and breaks within the classroom. My talking stays within 10 minute blocks before we start the activity, and I seat students with ADHD next to students who are able to conceptualize time more easily. This helps my ADHD students keep track of where they should be in #TeacherEd #SpEd

I'm always revising and adapting my materials to make sure to capture most accommodations of my 504 and IEP students, then create separate materials for those needing additional accommodations, but it's a challenging balance to keep material equally challenging. #TeacherEd #SpEd
