Whatever happended to the "free speech absolutist" who was supposedly running Xitter?

Families across the country will be better protected from energy crises, as government moves to break link between gas and electricity prices.
Robbins seems quite confused and unclear about his position, Starmer not at all.

The world is actually warming faster than ever (article below), 0.35°C per decade, instead of 0.2°C previously.
We clearly have the technology and capacity to completely replace fossil fuels. This needs to happen immediately, 2050 is far too late.

Robbins told "no need to vet Mandelson", so he vetted him anyway, but didn't tell the PM the result 🤦♂️
KS can hardly be blamed for not knowing that Mandelson failed security vetting if no one told him or anyone in the cabinet, can he? 🤷

Telegraph newspaper editorial on Mandelson's appointment in December 2024 versus editorial today
Ollie Robbins appears to be confirming this morning what KS said all along.
Seems to me like Trump is desperately begging Iran to sign a replica of the Obama JCPOA he tore up. All for the low low price of thousands dead, global instability, high energy prices, and a toll on ships through the once-free strait of Hormuz.
OMFG I had to go and check that this ACTUALLY happened.
Since when does the BBC ever do chyrons with a political party's branding, rather than their own? Not to mention this is during a pre-election campaign purdah.
(h/t @iainsol.bsky.social)
NEW -- Eight weeks into a "four to five" week war, Trump seems headed toward a deal that could look a lot like the one he has spent 11 years vilifying.
He also appears to be having difficulty keeping tabs on the actual goings on in his own war.

Who's "up to it" then, pray tell, if not the person who unified the Labour party after the Corbyn mess, took it to a huge majority just over 4 years on from a massive defeat, and is successfully delivering the most left-wing manifesto for over 50 years?
No wonder most of the media don't like him 🤷
By your own measure KS is doing the right thing on many of the most important questions of our time, like climate, energy security, child poverty, healthcare, early years education, Ukraine, Trump, Europe, housing, infrastructure investment, the far right ...
So ... why show him the exit door? 🤷
Labour MPs need to realise this isn’t about getting rid of Starmer it’s about destabilising the Labour govt and getting rid of all of you .. for Nigel and his mates ! The media have been on overdrive on this since July 24 .. it’s the latest attempt but not the last !
And then listen to the Prime Minister's full account of what actually happened

Got to give credit to Starmer for owning up to mistakes, taking full responsibility, apologising & explaining everything clearly from start to finish.
Tory PM’s would never do any of that, just brush everything under the carpet like it was nothing.
It was a mistake. They knew Mandelson was dodgy, but no one knew how dodgy until the Epstein emails came out.
Starmer already apologised back in February.
Can we just move on please? 🤷
Post Theresa May, Home Secretary was a revolving door under the Tories.
I think there's a reason for that - it's a bloody hard and probably quite unpopular job, which makes you very few friends.

Poor form @jonsopel1.bsky.social. You should own what you said at the time
Robin Cook resigned in protest at Blair joining Bush's attack on Iraq.
Keir Starmer also explicitly opposed the attack on Iraq, and made a clear decision as PM not to join Trump's attack on Iran.
They would be on the same side on a lot of things.
Worth a few minutes of your time to watch these videos of the PM giving the facts and the timeline of events around Mandelson.
Don't listen to cherry picked parts with added opinions from comentators.
Listen to the PM himself.

Fair enough, but Stamer already has already acknowledged and apologised for this, back in February.

Is there a gold-plated sign in Trump's White House saying "you don't have to be drunk to work here but it helps" ?
This is the most important thing you will read today – and probably the whole year, honestly.
We cannot let the AMOC collapse. For one thing it will make Iceland uninhabitable, and I would really like my children and grandchildren not to become refugees. But the effects will be almost everywhere.
"economic and land-use impacts of [an AMOC] tipping point are likely to include widespread cessation of arable farming with losses of agricultural output that are an order of magnitude larger than the impacts of climate change without an #AMOC collapse" - Ritchie 2020

Where does it say, "I will instantly nationalise all of this"? 🤷
It's about a philosophy and a direction of travel.
Where does it say that?
Yes, I read them when I voted for KS to be Labour leader, and I am not disappointed.
Did you read Warren's thread? 🤷
You mean the leadership pledges which Keir Starmer is busy delivering?

As I said, "he gets hammered for it" 🤷
If it's classed as an investment they can do a lot more, whilst retaining compliance Reeve's fiscal rules.
Removing fossil fuel's stranglehold from our heating and electricity systems, is clearly going to save the country a lot of money in the medium to long term.
