Politicians hide themselves away. They only started the war. Why should they go out to fight? They leave that role to the poor.
Time will tell on their power minds. Making war just for fun. Treating people just like pawns in chess. Wait 'til their judgement day comes.

My list needs updating after finishing Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 this past week! It's definitely in my top 5, if not my top 3.
I was so impressed by the maturity of the storytelling, character journeys, and themes that I had to write down my thoughts.

But did you find anything, or did you wake up JUST before digging up some hidden treasure/horror?
Welcome to "The Chicago"!
Stay warm and have a great weekend around the city, Prof! Looking forward to potentially meeting you at the Con.
Book cover of Slewfoot: A Tale of Betwitchery by artist/novelist, Brom. Artwork features a pale red-headed woman wearing a crown of flowers and a tattered white blouse that's falling off her shoulders. The woman has hooved goat legs and holds a goat skull draped in another crown of flowers. She sits atop a broomstick in front of a large full moon.
I just finished Slewfoot by @geraldbrom.bsky.social. Great little supernatural/occult horror revenge tale about puritanical oppression and sexism with a bloody satisfying ending.
Next, it's time to make a dent in my TPB graphic novel collection, Allstar Superman or Supergirl Woman of Tomorrow.
Yebba, do you want burnout? Because this is how you get burnout.
But also, yes! yes! yes! Flex that Jira restructuring muscle!

I sought out fellow music enthusiasts to share influences and expand musical horizons. I went from a gatekeeper to a gateway metal pusher - which is a hell of a lot more fulfilling.
I was fortunate to mature past childish mindsets, but not everyone is and they're likely stuck forever gatekeeping.
It wasn't until after college that I matured enough to be a welcoming advocate instead. Focussing on my career, I removed myself from my school peers and bad habits but missed the camaraderie of shared passions. So...
Fantastic episode, Jon! Great guest perspectives with @lindsayc88.bsky.social and Val!
My experience growing up with metal in the 90s aligns with Val's experiences. I've been on both the receiving end and, unfortunately, the giving end of gatekeeping - pre & post internet access.
I honestly believe our most powerful position in a toxic time that feeds on cynicism, apathy,& despair is to genuinely care and act for a better world.
Cynicism is our enemy. We should check it, incl. on the left. It’s not intellectually superior. It’s the virus they’re trying to infect us with. NO

The album cover artwork from Dark Lightning's "The Demons We Create" features a blindfolded female figure wrapped in dark ribbons mysteriously floating through a cavernous mountainscape while chained around the neck by two flanking wing demon creatures. Above the female figure rises a sword that crests a moon and a starlit sky.
The album cover for Pillar of Light's "Caldera" features a small solitary figure upon a desolate landscape as it approaches a huge rectangular portal-like structure. The blue light from the portal illuminates the barren ground around the figure. The pillar is flanked by two pillars that stretch far into the sky, and on the right pillar, the figure of death beckons the solitary figure into the portal.
The album cover for Detest's "A World Drowning In Detest" features a crag-ridding mountainous landscape with a giant red pillar comprised of horrific entities that have been melded together in a grotesque monolith that's seemingly bleeding into a lake of blood at the center of the landscape. Five red-cloaked figures are entering the red pool and approaching the monstrous monolith.
The album cover for Sarcophagum's "The Grand Arc of Madness" features a monstrous winged, horned, and six-armed demon in a catacomb-like chamber alit by dozens of large candles littered across the floor. The demon is struggling to break free from swirling ghostly skeletal entities.

The album cover for Wolvencrown's "Celestial Lands" features a medieval knight with a torch in hand overlooking a still lake through a clearing on the edge of a forest. In the background, a cloudy sky envelopes a mountain peak that gives way to a waterfall feeding the lake.
The album cover for Pestilent Hex's "Sorceries of Sanguine & Shadow" features two cloaked individuals amid a sacrificial blood ritual flanked by ancient pillars inside a candle-lit room. The hooded figure on the left is stabbing a sword through its chest, while the figure on the right holds a platter with a severed head - blood draining into a pool in the foreground.
The album cover for Konkhra's "Sad Plight of Lucifer" features a large procession of skeletal entities carrying Christian religious artifacts down a stone path from a cathedral up on a hill. Sun rays shine down upon the procession through sepia-toned clouds.
The album cover for Dewfall's "Landhaskur" features a dimly lit valley at the foot of a mountain range nestling ancient stone ruins in the background. In the foreground, a cloaked shaman-like individual wears a crown of antlers while holding a candelabra with three candles and a wooden staff with a human skull attached to the top. Surrounding the shaman-like individual is a band of wolf-headed warriors brandishing staves and weapons watching the shaman intently.

Congrats on this milestone! I've signed up and can't wait to see more of what you all have been cooking up over there.
I loved the Green Knight! Strong performance from Dev Patel, and every scene/shot in that movie feels like a painting coming to life. 🤩
I thought the same thing when I first saw the movie. As over-the-top as you think Jodie's accent is, check out the original recordings of the Kathy Bauer interviews. Jodie's performance was uncanny once you hear Kathy's voice first-hand.

Comic book covers featuring Jeff the Land Shark. Scarlet Witch #7 features Wanda Maximoff embracing an adorably excited Jeff and Venom War: It's Jeff #1 features a terrified Jeff standing on top of symbiote-infused Gwenpool's head.
Marvel Rivals has introduced me to Jeff the Land Shark, a goodest boy and national treasure that should be protected at all costs!
While doing my weekly pulls today, I saw these variant covers and had to pick them up.
