1. Boy, Amazon is in a heap of trouble. Evidence made public yesterday by California AG @agrobbonta.oag.ca.gov shows blatant price fixing. And there are so many examples. Here's Amazon scheming with a pet food supplier to get Chewy to raise its prices.

Mark Corrigan is a character portrayed by David Mitchell in the TV show Peep Show. He believes that hard work, sweat, blood, and tears are necessary for achievement, and even takes pleasure in this belief.
When a famous movie star disappears, Mark, a film extra, is hired to impersonate her until she's found.
However, the extra is murdered while in Mark's Jeep, and he becomes determined to find the star and the person responsible for the murder. a

07:11:14 // CAM 1434 // goes up terrace escalators on level 3 to level 6 concourse

07:12:52 // CAM AC10 // hugs usher

Appendix A of the report has a screenshot of the embrace, with Richards circled in red.

08:10:49 // CAM 0512 // pays for the drinks

It goes on and on. At 8:48 pm, camera 0489 spots another quick hug with an MSG “membership experience executive” (there's a grainy photo in the report's Appendix N). Two minutes and two seconds later, the same camera captures her heading into the women's bathroom. Her exit is noted after precisely two minutes and five seconds

Killer story from @noahshachtman.bsky.social @robertsilverman.bsky.social on the Madison Square panopticon. This guy's not an outlier, he's the start of a trend as surveillance tech commodifies and we get watched more and more. "We're in a time of private armies now"

Today/tomorrow (depending on your time zone) I’m going to the largest coffee festival in Northern Europe. I can only hope it’s at a venue with the greatest number of toilets in Northern Europe

It was not supposed to be a surprise dessert it’s just the sever told me a lot about it in Finnish and I was to embarrassed to ask himself to repeat it a third time so I said sounds good! And it was an excellent flan (I think). Maybe a cheesecake flan? Loved it

Yesterday/today (depending on your time zone) I did work at a cafe, walked 2 mi home through the forest, later I stopped at the bookstore, went to the cheese shop’s wine bar for dinner, sat outside in the sun at 8pm, had a glass of wine, read my book, ordered a surprise dessert, had a great time

If there’s one thing I’ve inherited from my mother it’s a love of sending photos of myself in silly situations with no caption in the family group chat. If there’s two things I’d also include eye color

The Car-Crash Conspiracy High-speed accidents, crooked lawyers, and poor people desperate for cash—it was the kind of scheme that could have been cooked up only in the Big Easy.

In the New Yorker this week, a story I've been trying to get off the ground for 5 years... about a Hollywood stuntwoman-turned-personal-injury-lawyer, her ex-con fiancee, high-speed crashes with 18-wheelers, and economic desperation in 21st century America. It's set in New Orleans and it's a doozy.
