NHTI 5k. Same course as back in March. Ran much harder this time - only 13 seconds faster with horrible positive splits (10s slower each mile). I think I have not recovered from the marathon 2 weeks ago :(

Ran my first marathon today. Hit my goal by a ton (not). Just squeaked under 3:30 to qualify for Boston. A goal achieved. Sitting on the couch feeling my legs twitch a lot now.
WOW. Alex Jones just said that Trump is over. Based on his no information speech tonight, Jones suggests people around trump should intervene... stating trump's mental state is gone. When even your lunatic fringe turns their back on you, the party's over.

Old man running
Completed the Eastern States 1/2 Marathon this weekend, running at marathon pace. Used the race as a tempo workout. It was cold, wet, and had a nasty headwind for
Most of the miles. Heart rate was surprisingly low. Hope I am ready for my first marathon in 2 weeks!
Crushed a 2 mile race today. 2 seconds slower than goal (it was an absurd goal). 1st in my division by 2 minutes. Mentally and physically very challenging
The Trump administration filed an emergency appeal with the Supreme Court, seeking to dismantle deportation protections for hundreds of thousands of Haitian immigrants. Solicitor General D. John Sauer urged the justices to overturn
Another good run after a forced day off earlier in the week. 9 mile tempo run with a few extra miles for warmup and cooldown. Pretty much on plan for marathon. Still another 7 tough weeks to go!
Marathon training continues. 15 miles on the treadmill- longest run yet. Still not up to the correct training pace, but getting closer.
Was getting ready to run a race this weekend. Very apprehensive because the forecast at race time was 5F with 20mph sustained wind (~-20F wind chill). Race postponed due to snow! No running in Arctic temps. Back to normal winter running (20-30F)!
8 Tempo miles - 11 total miles on a virtual run on Martha’s Vineyard. I continue to be able to run longer. 10 weeks to first marathon. The sanity is weak
I'm convinced they're waiting for Trump to die before releasing the Files. We all know he's not well, he's clearly trying to collect accolades so he can bargain his way into heaven, and once he's gone his cronies can throw him under the bus and try to make themselves look good by comparison.
2 nd race of the year done. The 3 mile snowflake shuffle. Made my goal pace of 7 min/mile, which last year would have been 2nd (age group). So did I get 2nd? Hell no! Came in 6th (age group), but a nice 42 nd overall. Best part: multiple ‘free’ beers afterwards while standing around chatting.
Official picture at the end of a 1 mile race. Pushing hard up a slight incline. 1st time wearing a wonderful smart wool headband. Keeps the ears warm and lets the heat out the too!
First race of the year complete. Almost hit pie in the sky goal time: 6:00.2 minutes. Still very happy I could a) run that fast and b) not get hurt. Snagged 2nd in my division. We don’t talk about the 17 people with a sub 5 minute mile….
Excellent start to the new year.
Last race of the year - Yule 2 miler a few weeks ago. Wrapped up a fantastic year.
2.1 miles on slippery snow. Regretted forgetting my nano spikes. This completes about 125 race miles this year. We goal for 2026 - 150 race miles
Last race of the year tomorrow. Only 2 miles around a race track. 3 weeks off and we start all over again on Jan 1st!
Another 5k complete. Hit
My target pace and somehow still came in 2nd in my age group. Wore the provided Santa Suit (except
The beard). Destroyed the pants- whoops. Another great race. Only one more this year, 2 weeks off and we start the whole thing again!!!
Another successful 5k. The Fishercat Thanksgiving 5k. Placed in my division. The real kicker is that I was 0.1 sec slower than the 2nd place 20-25 doc AND 0.1 sec faster Than the third place 20-25. At least I was amused
Only 3 more races this year. I have already surpassed the goal of 100 racing miles with two successful 1/2 marathons. Already signing up for next years races, with a goal to run my first marathon (we will see) and increase racing mileage to 150. The insanity is real
Killed another 1/2 Marathon. 1:40:57, 2nd place in division. 760ft of ascent. Was allowed a picture with a retired Navy Seal. He is the tall good looking one
Getting ready for the Manchester 1/2 Marathon. Cold and rainy out and looks like a tough course. A bit concerned this is going to suck
With the 3k on Saturday, I met my goal of 100 miles of racing this year. I still have 4 more events before Jan. Including another 1/2 marathon
1st hard frost of the year. Close up of the creeping thyme
Another good race. 1sr in Age
Group. Quads still burning from last weeks 1/2 marathon. Spent a few hours drinking beers and taking to other runners
Title: Old Man in Pain
This was at the finish line at the NE Half Marathon. Last 3 miles my quads were in pain. 3 days later I can almost walk normally.
Surprisingly I came in first in my age group.
48hrs after the half marathon and my quads are still very sore. Getting better veeeeeeery slowly.
Kip back from grooming
NE Half Marathon: absolutely killed it. 1:36:59, a good 5 min faster than my goal time
