Tell your SC General Assembly senator and representative that you must be protected from paying for generating capacity and any other costs associated with data center energy demands. Otherwise we may all suffer enormously while Zuckerberg and others profit. arkansasadvocate.com/2025/03/06/p...
You are correct. Faced with bills like H.3457 doctors, usually on advice of hospital attorneys, routinely delay treatment for cases that are leading directly to life-threatening sepsis until the condition has advanced. This leads to pregnant girls and women dying.
Testimony on the H.3457 abortion ban will be heard in the House Constitutional Laws Subcommittee on Tuesday, March 4, at 9 AM in the Blatt Bldg., Rm. 110. Written testimony can be sent to HJudConstitutionalLaws@schouse.gov.
H.3457 would ban abortions except in "medical emergencies." Abortion bans kill real live breathing people, as ProPublica's examination of results in Texas show; sepsis rates spiked from 2.9% to 4.9% during the 2nd trimester. www.propublica.org/article/texa...
Every League of Women Voters member working voter registration knows election law better than the SC DMV.
There is only one entity working on voter registration that has led to problems for voters. That is the SC Dept. of Motor Vehicles, which for years has used an algorithm that incorrectly rejected applications from young people age 17 even though they would be 18 at the time of the election.
The House Constitutional Laws subcommittee heard testimony on H.3459, a bill to require Election Commission registration of 3rd party groups assisting voters in registering, but didn't get to a vote. Let your House members know that there is no risk to election integrity from these groups. Vote NO.

South Carolina's 2025 legislative session begins next Tuesday. Several bills have been pre-filed that would require voters to register by party and to vote only in the primary for that party, with limited exceptions for independents. For more information, see open.substack.com/pub/lteague/...
