She had to go through several rounds of mental health evaluations and medical checks before the final approval. She had her caregiver put her in her favorite dress. Her will gave all of her estate to her long time caregiver and her family. It was a dignified and peaceful end to a very long life.

My FIL's aunt did this in BC earlier this spring. She was 94 had a very clear mind but had lost control of her bodily functions, could not hold her head up anymore, could not move on her own, and decided she didn't want to live like that. No kids living & no other close family.
