Lose the hunger for approval, the urge to compare, the guilt in rest, the fear of expression.
Letting these fall away matters as much as any milestone.
What remains is space to exist without measure, to move without witness, to become without permission.

the artist lives to observe
in ancient cultures we were
the watchers, the solitary ones
because the act of observing
removes the self from the body
spirit from form, so in a sense
we do not belong and never
have... we are living ghosts

This sepia-toned photograph by dohan captures a collection of furin (wind chimes) suspended outdoors, their slender paper slips, or tanzaku, hanging ready to catch the slightest breeze. The chimes themselves are cast in various traditional shapes, including rounded bells and a stylized animal form, each tethered to a cord that allows for rhythmic movement and clear, melodic sound. The shallow depth of field emphasizes the delicate suspension of these objects, rendering the background into a soft, atmospheric blur.

Striped squill; clusters of tiny pale blue flowers with blue stripes on their petals and yellow centres.
A single miniature daffodil.
It’s still mostly brown here but the ducks have arrived, the birds are singing, and if you look closely, tiny flowers have blossomed.
