Why is the headline "Eating fruits and vegetables may increase your risk of lung cancer" and not "The use of pesticides on friuts and vegetables may increase your risk of lung cancer"?

Researchers have been watching this network of YouTube accounts for awhile--the accounts post regularly, push a consistent message and if one goes down, another pops up. They've now turned attention to Alberta separation, and US annexation.

Right? And it really explains how people can get so hooked on those video lottery terminals. I know someone who used to dump his entire paycheck into them. Thankfully he got help.
Solitude, bottomlessness, speed, and teasing. How they hook us on the apps.

Actually it was his 7 children and a cousin. Then he shot his wife, but she survived. That poor woman.

Nearly 2/3 of Americans ages 5-90, ~205.1 million ppl, play video games….Mobile gamers like the Westlake woman make up 55% of the global video game population.”🧪
BTW, if you live in the Lansing area and have never quilted before, keep an eye on @lansingmakers.bsky.social for an announcement of my (as yet unscheduled) class.
We'll be making a disappearing 9-patch table runner or table topper similar to the one below.
I'm writing instructions for a quilting class I'll be teaching & discovered *the* most helpful site for someone who has to type a lot of odd fractions that don't autocomplete like 3/8", 5/8" etc. 😍

That happened back in 2018 and the court ruled that Uber, who owned the car, was not criminally responsible.

I'm getting ready to buy some outdoor clothes for a trip to Alaska. I guess I know who I *won't* be buying from.
Jesus this thread is brutal, Canada is decimating federal funding for their libraries and archives including completely cutting libraries in prisons & entirely removing the register of historic places
Canada’s carceral system disproportionately impacts indigenous peoples and communities. Preventing incarcerated people from accessing libraries is about more than saving a paltry couple million bucks per year. This is disgusting.
This is horrifying. I hope everyone in management at this place gets fired. Allowing an employee to just die in front of others? Not allowing them to help? Telling them to just keep working?!

I think it is very important that Mamdani *as well as doing the conventional parts of his job well* is doing extremely effective and positive propaganda.
seeing a lot of "higher gas prices won't affect me because I don't drive very much" and unfortunately it is my sad duty to inform you that your food does not teleport to the grocery store
sure, shutting down the National Park Service will leave the US effectively defenseless against what is predicted to be a record-setting year for wildfires, but if it's any comfort, it turns out you might die in a class warfare toilet paper fire first
I grew up in Canada which is a famously multicultural country. We don't believe in a melting pot. We believe that differences make the whole country stronger (and more interesting.)
Black text on white background: If corporations allow you to sign up with one click, you should be able to cancel with one click too. Subscription traps, whether from an app or gym membership, are just another way corporations take advantage of working people. We've already put hundreds of companies on notice. This week, we proposed a rule that would make NYC a national leader in cracking down on abusive practices that nickel-and-dime New Yorkers.

DHS says it didn’t happen. This isn’t a bug to them it’s the policy. They don’t want to verify. They want people gone. A US citizen who was born in Denver. Deported.
They didn’t care. They gave him a choice of deportation or five years in prison. Scared, he chose deportation. Dropped in a part of Mexico he’s never been to. Has no idea where he is. His boss (also a US citizen) was thrown in ICE custody during the same stop.
DHS deported a US citizen to Mexico. Brian Morales is 25 years old who was born in Denver. Pulled over in Texas with his construction crew. Didn’t have his ID on him and told officers he could get his birth certificate, Social Security card, and medical records from home.
Several Stephen King books that I read when I lived alone in my twenties scared me so bad I had to stay up all night until the sun came up before I could go to sleep. I can't remember which ones specifically, but I know I read The Stand around that time.
I really don't think it has anything to do with "girly" jobs. (And what is that anyway?)
Women are getting more university degrees than men. If men want more or better jobs they should get more or better education.
The 'kin' of ‘napkin’ means "little."
‘Nap’ comes from ‘nape,' which means “tablecloth.”
So a napkin is a little tablecloth.
