Of course they take away from the music. The overwhelming visuals are the whole point, and we shouldn’t hold the music so sacred that we can’t embrace it for the few shows played in that room.

Between a family visit in NJ and not staying up for webcasts while on east coast time, I don’t recall the last time I was this detached from Phish.
Sounds like N1/N2 were largely weak sauce but saved by Sphere, while N3 would have been a solid Tier 2 but Sphere amped it up to “life-changing.”
Probably going 2/3/4 as the shows peak because the writing and dialogue are so good despite the action and bigger production of seasons 5-6. The 7-8 just went off the rails but were still super entertaining.
So my best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with a girl who saw Billy Strings pass out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious.
