NEW EPISODE!
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (PSP)!
Dave of @anifieldguide.bsky.social returns to show to talk anime! He once again tag teams with our very own Chris (Shane swears he's not dodging Dave on purpose), this time to cover a video game spinoff of Ghost in the Shell!
Our episode on FIGHTERS MEGAMIX is out now! Part Virtua Fighter, part Fighting Vipers—all Sega. Also, there's a fighting car. FM *defined* my childhood on the Saturn. And the music! It. Is. BURNIN'. Just filthy!
Ft. co-host @retrohangover.bsky.social . Hope you love the show today—links below!⬇️
Look ma I’m in a Kotaku article! Thank you to @shepardcdr.bsky.social for collecting so much love from so many awesome people about one of the greatest franchises. Honored to be among them.
No exaggeration, my story could not be told without mentioning Pokémon, so big thank you to Ken for including a very formative memory of mine in here along with so many wonderful stories from others. Big happy feelings reading through these.
New review up! My impressions after playing The Revenge of Shinobi for the first time!

Uh hello? Retro Studios already did this, way back in 2010, with Super Kong...
The Retro Wildlands podcast is back! In this new episode, I’m counting down my favorite video games I played in 2025. The surprises, the standouts, and the ones I couldn’t stop thinking about long after the credits rolled.

New video up! Kind of a re-post as this combines my old parts 1 & 2 of the Contra retrospectives from 2024, but there is a new section added to the end with some extra stuff since uncovered. Enjoy! Sharing around is much appreciated :) youtu.be/Ap10X-REdlk
Well, Soha had this one ready for the week!
Unbeatable is a very narrative-driven and stylish rhythm game. But how much does the story add to the experience? Check it out!

An update on the channel.
Screenshot from Bioshock. Sander Cohen says over the radio: "(an) artist has a duty to seduce the ear and delight the spirit...so say goodbye to those two blowhards, and hello to an evening with Sander Cohen!"
Almost 20 years later, Bioshock is still incredibly impressive. Rapture has gotten its flowers the whole time but it's still *so* interesting. The horror vibes, the setpieces, the environmental storytelling and so much more. I've had a great time revisiting it for the podcast.
And this one

I'm a real professional who didn't forget to make a post about a new video upload.
LLC is not inherently bad and tools that bring big leaps of development, editing and digital creation efficiency have always been a thing.
There simply needs to be a better naming convention for these new tools based on their specific use cases.
How do you expect the general public not to antagonize your studio the moment they read/hear you used AI/gen AI at all when it's all being piled together into this incredibly vague terminology?
If by AI you mean LLC, just say LLC.
If it's a common function for use cases that aid the programmers or the artists without replacing them outrigh, give that function its own proper, public and marketable name.
"AI" is a blatantly TERRIBLE and broad term. AI has existed for decades. If you say "AI" it doesn't tell ANYTHING, specially for people outside of the industry.
It leads to a lot of bad faith arguments pro and against it.
Seeing more and more articles/posts about <Game Studio> uses AI and the extent of it is all over the place.
I'm not a game dev, but as a former QA who built test scripts, I think the nuance is lost when techbros and studio devs fail to reach a proper consensus on what exactly to call the technology
It's finally here! Reviewed for you!

NEW EPISODE!
Lucas from @gameoverhell.bsky.social joins to assess the story of a shortstack swordsman, Brave Fencer Musashi!
PSA to creators.
YouTube added another crappy feature, and forced it ON by default as they usually do. If you don't want bad AI upscaling adding undesirable artifices in your videos you have to turn it off on your channel's settings.

In spite of the visuals I think labeling this as halloween appropriate may have been a bit of a stretch, but I went into this blind so don't @ me!
Now please excuse me while I vanish to work on the Replaylee video.
Finished a full completionist run today.
Not to spoil my impressions (video review soon) but...
There were times I felt like my impressionable 9 or 10 year old self again. Very few games accomplish that.
@playtonicgames.com and @pmstudios.bsky.social done and "A Realm Reborn"'d the IP!

Starting the series of Halloween season reviews in the channel!
I really wanted to put a MEET 'N' FUCK KINGDOM, STEVE reference in the script, but I didn't manage to write it in. You're all saved from my full degeneracy this time.

New review is up!
A SNES inspired sidescroller that I think got more flack than it deserved.
