So far so good on that front. Admittedly, I am still actually doing day job work (err, mostly!) but I'm at least not spending every other moment facepalming. (Except when I code something stupid and that doesn't count!)

Fuck you
they were stupid
so unnecessary
and so annoying
Oh, very definitely. She was an incredible woman (and wasn't alone, either - I did some research into her and a few of the other women snipers a few years back and they were all both brave and highly skilled)
True. The sport has moved on/changed considerably, although whether it's necessarily all for the better is probably a debate to be had somewhere else!
Thank you - I was trying to find her but my Google skills were letting me down.
Or just simply because ohgoshthehorror a woman won. At least one of the Olympic shooting events was a mixed field. Then in either 88 or 92, a woman won the gold and by the next Olympics it was segregated. Something similar happened in figure skating I think, though much earlier. (posted too soon)
No problem :D - happy to use my powers of procrastination for good for a change!
It looks like it, yes - though I can't see any direct "And I shall name him Wolf!" statements (admittedly, though, I am skimming the text a bit!)
Yes he does. One of Mrs Knutson's husky puppies.
So first, that admin task, then coffee and something to fortify me for the day ahead, then the day job stuff.
<3
Yesterday was not particularly successful on any front (thanks to the day job stupidity) and today does still have a chunk of day job stuff to tackle, but I feel a bit more positive about it.
I also have a tiny bit of website admin to do (that's first!) and then it's back on draft 5.
Two large bunches of elderberries photographed against a background of leaves and sky.
Morning :)
The elderflower isn't quite in bloom yet (another couple of weeks, I'd think), which means elderberries are still a way off, but I can't see them without thinking of Monty Python!
Fair :D - I don't have the range to sing Prince (this does not stop me from singing along, of course...) and Corvette is a really good song, too, but I have to get my intro-to-Prince song in the list somewhere!
Hm. I think I'd probably swap Little Red Corvette for Let's Go Crazy, but otherwise yes :D
Today will be a day mainly dominated by the day job, but there will also be more work on draft 5 which really is turning into an absolute epic...
And before any of that, I need a fresh cup of coffee and something to fortify me ahead of day job stupidity.

A black-faced sheep with red and green markings on its fleece peers between the slats of a wooden gate. The gate has four horizontal slats and two diagonals.
Morning :)
What are ewe doing? A sheep views me with suspicion, but her field wasn't part of the footpath, so she and I remained on different sides of the gate and we were probably both happy about that! Taken near Loweswater in the Lake District last summer.
Remind me in four months and I'll nominate them for Yuletide - they seem like they'd a good hit with that crowd.
(Also, I'm now off to track some down to try!)
Travel and learn. To borrow a phrase from someone else, I would spend that time filling my knowledge bucket.
Probably also do a lot of crafting and reading.
Maybe finally catch up with the hours of TV I keep meaning to watch...
I actually did know that. I'm not entirely sure WHY I knew it, admittedly...
...and unlikely, given I do have a good chunk of dayjob work to do as well!
So I need to get cracking. But first, need to refill my water bottle and find some breakfast. <3
Yesterday ended up as a complete write off, thanks to an unexpected (and very much undesired!) trip to Bath. However, the problem got solved and today is a new day.
Main goal today is draft 5. I'd like to get at least one section fully finished. Two would be fabulous. Three would be greedy...
An American Larch tree against a sun-set coloured background
Morning :)
A lone tree on a distant hill at sunset? No. It's actually a Bonsai tree (specifically an American Larch)! It was started in 1973 and had (at the time of the photo) reached about three foot in height. Taken at Longwood Gardens.
UPDATE 2:
Shelves mostly built (I need to get my hot glue gun out to fix a couple of bits, but they were damage reduced so not a surprise). Both website admin bits tackled and draft 1 for May has been edited.
This morning is for errands, chores and the vat of coffee…plus some plotting…naturally!
Then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out.
Python 3.45
UPDATE 1:
The day job stuff is one and I am now armed with a screwdriver...
(I have also had a look at the website admin and draft 1 for May, but neither's actually finished off)
Thou shalt not covet thine neighbour's lime...
So time to get cracking.
